    Is this rock bottom?

  3. That may or may not be true. I thought Thor looked pretty good in his minutes.

  4. Burke seems to have a different gear as opposed to everyone else. I thought he was bigger and was confusing him with Green at first. Blanton's body size will give him many mismatches on offense, he could use a good year in the weight room. Kavas looks real comfortable and confident shooting three. Not sure it is a good thiing that Thorir looks like the strongest starter. He seems to be playing well though. Cross looks confident out there. Norm won't like Curtis's shot. Cheatham seems to have the tools but didn't seem to finish a couple easy ones. Probably only due to playing in the Italy summer rec league. I think he will be better against better compitition.

  5. I hadn’t voted yet. I went ahead and voted for Fred because I thought his entry was better than mine. Congrats to Fred!

  6. Is it just me, or does anyone else see KCross as more of a forward. Man that shot is smooth and he has some moves.

    Hoiberg on NBA TV

So I’m flipping through the channels and on comes an NBA hardwood classic: 2004 Sacramento Kings vs. Minnesota Timberwolves. Hoiberg guarding Mike Bibby or Doug Christie most of the game. Plays hard and is an energy guy. I forgot how loaded and good the Kings were back then. Webber, Peja, Divac, Christie, Bibby, Bobby Jackson, Hedu, Brad Miller...how did they not win a title once? Strange watching Fred pass to Sprewell and Garnett. Wally Szerbiak was on the team too. Just had a Rodney Buford sighting Maloof brothers on the sideline Cant believe this was already 15 years ago, I’m getting old...

  14. Its so nice to have a little basketball to hold us over until football kicks off... which eventually leads into basketball tipping off lol. Probably nothing you can take away from this game that is really concrete. We are down three players (Ouedraogo, Mack, Arop) who will contribute next year. And played Dalano Banton who is ineligible. The important thing is we got game like reps against outside competition and no one got hurt. The next club we play is suppose to be pretty stiff competition. Also, s/o to Thor getting the start. He probably wont ever be the leading scorer but I keep hearing about how much better the ball moves when hes on the court and that hes always making the "smart play".

  16. Go look at my posts on Huskers Online... Banton and Cross shocked the hell out of me! Banton has NBA Handles and Size, and Cross is much more than an undersized Center

  21. If it’s not who starts but who finishes, then it looks like a bunch of freshmen walk on‘s are the most trusted players on the team.

  22. Maybe it's a time based thing? They kept me waiting around for a while. Samari is a gift from the basketball gods.

  23. For my friends who can’t see the feed, we are currently up 64 to 41 at the end of 3/4. Benton is kind of a bright spot. Easley looks like he could make the rotation. Does Sean Burke has incredibly fast hands and is just generally fast. Cheatham needs cleanup driving to the hoop and finishing. Kevin Cross is doing some good work to em.

  31. 47-28 good guys at the half. We need time on the floor together which is why this trip is so great. Tons of pieces. Puzzle isn't near close together though. We can run. Have a feeling we can shoot too.

  32. I love the movement and pace. Will be fun. Kavas more athletic than I expected. Stevenson looks really good. Blanton...unreal, will be worth the wait. I Cross also better than I expected. Score getting ugly now so they may look good due to competition.

    Fred Hoiberg

Considering how little time Coach had to get the roster together (and that he had to re-do it entirely), I’d say he did pretty damn well.

I personally do not have an issue with these games being out of sight (so to speak). There should be zero expectations regarding these scrimmages. The team needs to go to Italy, have fun, ball a little, see the sites and get to know each other. Winning and building expectations should take place later this autumn.
