Fred Hoiberg has done a complete remake of the roster for this upcoming season. Someone posted weeks ago about doing an Original/Remake song thread in the off-season. Kudos to you, mark that post and you have a steak coming your way. Remakes can be really good. Oftentimes, not so much. I KNOW this Husker remake will be a huge success. Anyway... The Contest: As a rock and roll fanatic, original songs 90 per cent of the time are better than remakes. However, there are covers that are so much better than the original song. Here's the deal: Post your remake song you think kicks the ass of the original. Name the original artist and post the remake video, and you're part of the contest. The winner will be determined by how many upvotes he/she gets. The winner gets 2 14 oz Nebraska Star Beef Ribeyes, plus a six pack of Lucky Beef jerky. The contest will conclude in a couple weeks. I'll provide an example: Angry Bruce Springsteen. Kick ass remake:

I thought Jimmy redeemed himself in Philly compared to his time in Minnesota. He was very lowkey and let Simmons and Embiid do their thing except for during crunch time.

Gerry Gdowski was a legit baller, too bad he basically had a year to produce for T.O. He was so good at QB in Osborne's offense.

Your point is well made and I am geeked about AM's future as a Husker. I would observe that IMO the best QB is not listed. In 1989 Gerry Gdowski completed 52.5% (admittedly a lower number) but his yards per attempt was 9.8 -- higher than anyone else up there. In addition he only threw 2 interceptions all season. His QB pass rating was 177.3 which would be the highest season rating in NCAA history if he had the minimum of 15 attempts per game (he had 12 per game). And to cap that he RUSHED for 925 yards at an average 7.9 per carry. (BTW, that average broke the record to that point of no one else but Mike Rozier.) It is a fun discussion but Gdowski deserves to be in the mix.

I think the last time 84th Street was referred to as west Omaha, Moe Iba was buying egg cartons...
