  1. Post whatever germane stuff here. What prompted me was I saw this on Twitter this morning: Should have a solid D line, and I didn't realize we had maybe the best returning corner in the conference.

  2. It would only be right. Especially with the recent flurry of NCAA compassion-in-the-form-of-waivers.

  3. Fred Hoiberg hosted the first session of the 2019 Nebraska Basketball Camp last week. It was a blast, even as an onlooker Dad, as I learned a lot about the type of offensive system that Hoiberg & Co. will want to run from a philosophical perspective -- I talked to several coaches & some former players/camp-assistants to glean as much as I could without taking away from the 200+ kids who were there to learn. And my boy enjoyed it immensely.

  6. Fred has really embraced the Hoopin’ Herbie look. In all sorts of colors. Sure would be cool to see these in stores

  7. Nebrasketball had a bunch of NBA players who played at NU in the 90s.

  8. Freddie speaks so softly, I'm thinking Doc must be his "Anger Translator," just as Luther was for President Obama.

  9. Still seems like trying to put together a puzzle with 5% of the pieces. Georgia made the 2001 tourney with a 16-14 record (AS AN 8 SEED!). The 2013 selection committee was wild. 23-12 Virginia was left out, and dual 26-8s Oregon and Ole Miss were TWELVE SEEDS. Both won their conference tournaments. Ole Miss probably wouldn't have made the field at 25-9 (had they lost in the auto-bid title game). Which would have been a damn shame... not to watch Marshall Henderson knock 5-seed Wisconsin from the tourney. Even with an upper and lower limit (which is still a pretty large gap), it doesn't really account for all the other factors that play into why a team with x, y, z qualifications in 2014 doesn't make the tournament with the same exact resume in 2018. I guess we'll just have to win them all.

  11. As much as I hate to say it, I think a great comp is Ethan Wragge. He played for the wrong team but that kid could shoot (also 47% from three his senior year)

  12. FWIW... Jalen Suggs, Ben Carlson, Dawson Garcia, Dain Dainja and Kendall Brown all follow this guy on Twitter. His son is a 2020 football recruit.

  13. If we could add Kuminga and Clarke to Peterson, Beanstalk and Bunyan well that would be game over. Make room in the trophy case.

  17. Yes, it does. Two streams of thought on tough or weak pre season schedules. Still haven't decided if the "cream puff" is the way to go, or a more aggressive pre season schedule. Kind of lean toward a weak, with a tougher couple of games just before the season starts. It seems to work for Purdue and it may be the best option for a not so experienced team that needs to jell, and learn to play together. Success breeds confidence regardless of schedule. Maybe puts your team in a good frame of mind when the tougher teams come to town?

    Italy Trip

With budget cuts in the print media industry, there is no chance in Creighton either one of them send a writer to Italy. We'll have to depend on wire service reports.

  22. Right, Boeheim can't comment on unsigned recruits. I just went searching for the article and couldn't find it. I believe he was asked a general question about kids jumping from high school to the NBA. Somewhere in his response he said something like, "There's a kid up here in New England that'll end up being one of the best recruits in the last decade." Whoever wrote the article assumed he was talking about Terrence Clarke. It's kind of like how Husker beat writers and reporters have said Chucky Hepburn has been #1 on Tim MIles' list the last couple years. In fact, Washut recently said on a podcast that Miles once told him, "If I ever get fired, make sure the next coach goes and gets Chucky."
