  8. Robin Washut @RobinWashut #Nebrasketball offers 2021 New York big man Adama Sanogo. Andrew Slater @Andrew__Slater 6’10” Adama Sanogo’21 of @NYRhoops & @OSNA_BVHOOPS earned an offer from Nebraska #GBR #Nebrasketball ? Leads the #EYBL in rebounds per minute and Top 5 overall ?

  10. Sounds like Bolt is a done deal. And Jeff Christy should be joining the staff.

  11. Gary Sharp just said it’s probably gonna be Bolt. Van Horn and Childress both recommended him. Bolt says it’s his Dream job. DVH says he has the “it factor”. Moos will get him a stout asst pool. I for one will be very excited. JUCO, Texas and Nebraska connections already in place. A good pitching coach is a must.

  12. This discussion happened in another thread somewhere and I think I suggested an over/under around 18. I was thinking 9 wins in the non-con and another 9 in the conference. But 9 conference wins is probably ambitious. That's why there's an over/under.

  14. Very cool. They were also talking about how it just made too much sense to hold the MLB draft in Omaha leading up to the CWS as well which I think it s brilliant idea. With the MLB game (it doesn't *have* to be the Royals every time, I'm sure Ricketts wouldn't mind bringing the Cubs in for this sometime) you could make it that much more of a spectacle.

  15. Maybe Bolt has a son on a team that's in the CWS... and they're hoping for shots of Bolt in the crowd watching his kid play, while the announcers mention "Oh hey, there's new Nebraska coach Will Bolt".

  17. If these were open to the public (??) it wouldn't be a terrible idea. Flights to Italy are super cheap right now, and there are a ton of schools doing one of these trips this year. It would be during the seasonal lull, but a hoophead would have plenty of "sights" to see.

  18. Aside from the 3 inning technical difficulties, this is really cool. I really hope this becomes an annual tradition. George Brett talking in the booth, CWS teams enjoy a night in the ballpark, fans and locals get a night of MLB, Matthew Boyd gets to pitch on this field as an Oregon State Beaver and now a Detroit Tiger. It just seems like a unique and fun event that could become something pretty special.

I guess I'll take one for the team. Let's all pool our money together, buy me a ticket and pay for my international phone and data plan and I'll film all the games for us. I hate it when I draw the short straw!

  21. Given our recently released schedule seems a valid exercise to project how many wins it will take us to get into the NCAA tournament.

With budget cuts in the print media industry, there is no chance in Creighton either one of them send a writer to Italy. We'll have to depend on wire service reports.

Will any of these games be available via a streaming service? I can’t imagine any local broadcasts will send over a crew (not unless Scott Frost is going) but hopefully we’ll get beat writers from the OWH/LJS to keep us apprised...

  24. It's like what they say in the recording business: "You're only as good as your last album." Fred and Matt might be able to get the job done on the recruiting trail even without much success this year. But it'll be a lot easier, and the ceiling for recruits higher, if they see a team come in and kick some ass right off the bat.

  26. Recruiting class of 2021 is important. They can sign beginning November 2020. Would be really nice to show them some success in the first season.

  27. Im not worried about wins and losses this season. Im just excited to watch and see how it all comes together. If we win a lot that'd be cool too.

  28. We haven't even had a preseason trip to Italy and we're talking about the bubble? We've got a clean sheet of players on the roster and I'm just hopeful we can see the group of guys get along and start the beginning of the Hoiberg era off on the right foot.

Maybe Kansas is not offering $ this recruiting cycle due to their FBI situation. .

  31. I think one problem we’re having here is people want to fit guys into the old 1,2,3,4,5 slots for a lineup. Basketball today really has 3 positions: the Point, Wings, and Bigs. This offense will certainly have 3 wings playing at the same time quite a bit. My complete guess for a lineup goes: point: Mack Wings: Green, Burke, Cheatham Big: Cross Some guys obviously fit into multiple positions, but it all depends on match ups.

  34. Right, Boeheim can't comment on unsigned recruits. I just went searching for the article and couldn't find it. I believe he was asked a general question about kids jumping from high school to the NBA. Somewhere in his response he said something like, "There's a kid up here in New England that'll end up being one of the best recruits in the last decade." Whoever wrote the article assumed he was talking about Terrence Clarke. It's kind of like how Husker beat writers and reporters have said Chucky Hepburn has been #1 on Tim MIles' list the last couple years. In fact, Washut recently said on a podcast that Miles once told him, "If I ever get fired, make sure the next coach goes and gets Chucky."

  35. I'm not in love with his form, but I also wasn't Ohio player of the year either, so I can live with it if it goes in! It is a fairly quick release at least.
