  1. Petteway, Pitchford, White and Palmer sure did.

  3. Here are two things I know for sure: Iowa State has a lower all-time winning percentage than Nebraska, and Nebraska leads the head-to-head series.

  4. To add on to this, in his post-commitment interviews Cheatham talked about taking pride in defending the other teams best perimeter player and being a vocal leader. As for Kavas, I lived in Seattle the past year and enjoyed going to Redhawk games. I was fortunate enough to sit next to an elderly lady who’d been going to games since the 50’s. She loved talking about watching “Elgin (Baylor) and the boys” play when she was a student. Anyway, Kavas is all business. He has a quiet confidence and his teammates respect the hell out of him. His post-game interviews are hilarious. Very matter of fact and doesn’t care for small talk. He’s coming to Nebraska to shoot threes and he knows it.

  10. Roby will not be back. What will be interesting in the fall is how the pundits will rank NU in the preseason polls, with a new coaching staff and players who have not yet stepped on a Big 10 court. It will be anybody's guess, but I will be surprised if we are picked in the top 1/2 of the league by outside observers or if we are not picked in the top 4 by those of us at HHC.

    Derrick Walker is N

Right. Even if Walker isn't immediately eligible, his presence in practice will help prepare Cross and Ouedraogo for the Big Ten season.

  13. I don’t think you redshirt anyone that’s not a walk-on or because of injury. Fred will want to improve the roster and recruit over guys. Redshirting them only keeps them around longer.

  26. He told Washut, "I can be a junkyard dog if you want me to be." I love that quote. Said he likes to defend and rebound. This really isn't sour grapes... but I was hoping Jayce Johnson wouldn't commit here. He said he's leaving Utah because he wants to be more of a focal point of an offense. He would not have been that at Nebraska. That made me think of Abdelmassih talking about having to be careful with grad transfers, and how they can potentially create locker room problems if they don't get what they want. Walker sounds like he fully understands what his role will be.

  31. You may be right, and if so, I hope that would be the reason. But, he’s a stunning athlete and I see the potential for him to develop a consistent and accurate three-point jumpshot. I could also see him being a lockdown defender able to guard the 1 through the 4. He’s worth giving an opportunity to, one that could pay significant dividends.

  35. I'd take that finish to this season 100 times out of 100, and I'll defer to your knowledge on that subject. After all, I can barely pretend to know what I'm talking about with NU hoops. There's no chance in hell I can pull that off for ISU hoops. The last thing I need is to be Internet shamed on here by some random ISU fan for my lack of Clone hoops knowledge. (And I know you're lurking out there Clone fans. Coveting our coach is bad form, by the way. You've got your guy. And we've got your better guy.)

  36. Due to the pretty even class distribution now in the roster I think we may be able to skip the EKG portion of the learning curve and go straight to the roller coaster instead.

  37. Two months ago I was penciling Jervay in as a 20 point scorer. I now think the number is closer to 14. Maybe even 12. We look to have some real options so we won’t need someone to play hero ball.

  45. Stevenson committed to Nevada on Dec. 20, 2018, at the end of the first semester. Here's the link to a story about his transfer from Pitt to Nevada. It is dated Dec. 20, 2018. His sit-out clock started when he announced he was leaving Pitt, which was on Dec. 17, 2018. So he indeed exhausted only a half-year of his eligibility. You can find that fact in the same article. His transfer redshirt clock will end at the end of the fall 2019 semester. He will have 2.5 seasons to play, at minimum. Tanner Borchardt was with Nebraska for the entire season, so he couldn't get time back. He didn't play, and he didn't transfer. That's his problem. Stevenson was with Pitt for only a semester last season. He was in Nevada this spring, sitting out the first of his two semesters, per transfer rules. He didn't play because he had already transferred. Also, players don't theoretically have eight years to squeeze in eight semesters of being on an active roster. The window is five years to be play four (10 semesters to play eight, with two consecutive semesters to sit out as either a transfer or a redshirt. Stevenson was on the Pitt roster for three semesters (1.5 years), he has sat one semester and has one more to sit (barring a waiver), and will have five semesters left (2.5 years). Sitting because you're not good enough to see the floor does not count as a redshirt or transfer year. The only question I have if Stevenson doesn't get a waiver to play immediately for Nebraska: When does the semester actually end in the fall? The last day of classes is Saturday, Dec. 14, and finals end Friday, Dec. 20. Can we play Creighton after Dec. 20? Please?
