I’ve been a Dead Red NU basketball fan since 1958 and this has me thinking the unthinkable...NCAA tourney win, Sweet 16, Elite 8, Final 4 and National Championship. I need to take better care of myself so I am around to see it. I’m off to walk two more miles to add to my first two miles so I can keep my blood pressure down.

  3. Allow me. I visited "France" at EPCOT: "I ate Navy beans like a boss, during a trip to Frappucino. When I got to Omaha, I was offered many dollars by a tall basketball coach. I'm getting out of here and back to Chicago."

Don't want one or need one. Just wanted to share with the board what I was told. My first question to my brother was is your friend a guy that could mangle this, lol. He said no, they had a great time and bullshitted the whole flight. At the end of the day, all that matter is that he is N.

Huskers land highly ranked PG as the heir apparent to Glynn Watson Image courtesy of huskers.com Mack had verbally committed on Saturday night during his on campus visit. The JUCO All-Region guard at Salt Lake CC was previously a St. John's commit until their recent staff shakeup. Mack originally signed with Stephen F. Austin out of high school for 2017-18 but ended up redshirting. He has 3 years of eligibility remaining. Quote from HC Fred Hoiberg Roster shaping up. View full article

It’s also worth mentioning while the Big Red has been bathed in positive press, the Catholic School up in Omaha is knee deep in an FBI investigation. Every Juco All-American we add is only a reminder that the balance of power is shifting to it’s rightful place in the Star ️ City...

  9. Boom. Such a huge commit. This roster is really forming very nicely. Now lock up the big man from Utah.

  10. Makes me laugh at the "HOIBERG HATES RECRUITING" narrative. He may hate it, but it appears he is pretty freaking good at it.

  12. Their visits were "great", according to a Husker media member. Coaching staff wants them both and feels good about our chances. Yvan doesn't arrive in Lincoln until later today. If we land Johnson and Cross, I'm not sure he'll have a spot on our roster though. I think we'll reserve our last 1 or 2 (Roby/Thor) scholarships for sit-out transfers. I could be wrong, of course.

The gentlemen of the new regime have been most impressive. One or two pieces left to fit in and the most highly anticipated season in history can get started. Can't wait to see how this team will fare once the actual coaching starts. Kudos to Hoiberg and his staff and ,yes, Bill Moos as well.

the highest i've seen him listed on mock drafts is 28. unless a team guarantees to take him in the 1st round, i think coming back to nebraska will be a very attractive option.

  21. Not sure. My kid is a thrower - seems like most of her injuries are to the arm, shoulder, and back. I haven’t heard of any of the runners on her team having this issue but I imagine it’s possible with distance runners especially. My husband is in exercise physiology and he just told me that it can happen to anyone.

  22. According to the Arkansas newspaper people, Mack cancelled the A&M visit. He may end up visiting elsewhere (or not), but as of now the only visit he has scheduled is Nebraska.

    19-20 roster

I’ve never bothered with those threads anyway, so I certainly won’t be the one to start it this year. But for the guy who has repeatedly said in the past that he throws things out/starts threads just for the sake of discussion to tell the board not to start a thread where something will be discussed is...well...laughably ridiculous. Hell, this year more than most is worthy of the discussion. We knew pretty well who was going to start going into last year. The discussion was pretty much pointless. But this year? We’ve got no clue. Why wouldn’t the fine folks on this board want to speculate about who will start/play? There are legitimate questions this year. Would we get it right? Odds aren’t good. Would I participate in the thread? Probably not. Would the posters have fun speculating? I bet so. And I think it’s kind of funny that you basically started the discussion anyway with your lists of potential starting backcourts.

So when will Marc Boehm get the "Mack the Knife" husker basketball gear out to the public?

  28. Man, I am placed in a position to argue a very important point. You state only a few players have talent, where the rest of the team, probably not so much. Gosh, to get to high Division I level...to play anything beyond high school, is an accomplishment. You have to have talent to compete at this level. I understand that there are different levels of talent. I can certainly jump on board with that type of opinion, at all levels, you have the best of the best; but to field, throw, hit, hit for power takes talent.

  30. from the article, it sounds like she struggled through this problem during most of her high school years and recently became worse. this is the first time i have heard of this affliction. i didn't notice a list of other schools that offered her. maybe they did, i just didn't see it.

  31. Reminder, it was Cam Mack (committed), Jayce Johnson, Dalano Blanton, Kevin Cross, and (supposed to be) Yvan Ouedraogo. Ouedraogo's flight was apparently delayed and he didn't get in until today. Washut has a twitter tease suggesting the weekend for the 4 guys who were here as scheduled couldn't have gone any better. However, no official word and it's behind a paywall, so ...

  34. Offensively as well as defensively with some B1G-quality length and speed on the court, particularly with a good Big Ten PG leading the cause. Good vibes for Nebrasketball tonight !!! GBR !!!

I just don't see it mattering one way or another. If he's satisfied with his position and his toolset going into the draft, no reason for him to return. If he feels he's short--or the league does--he'd likely be back regardless of who's going to be on the roster. I just think he's going to go high enough to make this moot.

Glad to have Mack aboard! Crazy few weeks of recruiting, and there's still more to come. With so many new pieces, having the Italy trip is especially timely ... and probably isn't hurting recruiting, along with the Caymen Islands trip. But on a serious note, the World Herald needs to find a new photo for its recruiting tweets and online stories - that thing does not crop in a flattering manner. Looks like they're playing smell my finger.

The Auroran Huskie wins a dollar. They all played for the Golden St Warriors! I’d be hard pressed to name all the teams Mikki played for, but I was lucky enuff to see Hoppen play for the Charlotte Hornets back in 1990.

    R.I.P. Hondo

Completely saddened and dejected when I heard the news of his passing. I only saw him play in the last 5 or so years of his career. I learned quickly after developing a love for basketball as a child that "Hondo" Havlicek was my dad's favorite player. I then began to admire him myself- both his on the court play and his demeanor and character off of it. He was my first childhood sports idol, and I can't even think of another that I could classify as such after him. I wish he was getting more attention in light of his passing- but he wouldn't have wanted it anyway. R.I.P. John Havlicek- and many thanks for the memories. ?

  50. His tape looks a lot like Ed Morrow's high school tape. Except for he's two inches taller. And 20 lbs heavier. And has a range of 20' and not 2', and can actually handle the ball like a wing and can actually pass it. So what gives? How is this guy not rated higher?
