    2020 recruiting...

Was there today. Great day for football. They did a tribute to the new recruits showing their HS clips on the big screen. Pretty cool. (they all came out on the end of the field...and watched their own clips !...along with 80,000 +) My nephew has a vintage red museum in Haymarket....met Mike Rozier today.. and Ricky Simmons, and other former players.. Emily Ryan...please commit...please !

    2020 recruiting...

Being in the midst of 89,000 rabid fans for the Spring Game can't hurt!

  8. Doc had zero winning conference seasons. Miles had two. That written, I'm excited to see what Doc can do for us an the primary defensive assistant. It seems to be a perfect fit for a great guy who's passionate about Nebraska basketball.

The number 13 is significant. The children of Israel marched around the city of Jericho a total of thirteen times. Then the walls came down. We're on the verge of seeing things happen to this program that are of biblical proportions!

    A sincere apology

This is by far the best time for Husker Basketball there has ever been. Yet upon reflection, I've been a dick on this board to people who don't deserve it. No excuses. Just wanted to apologize to people who I consider family. Except Massengill, from the filling out the staff thread. Everyone have a fabulous weekend and a Blessed Easter!

  11. I mean it is baseball. Id be ecstatic if we failed 65-70% of the time. Doing what you can to win is important in the down times.

  12. That probably explains the 28% 3 point shooting....

  13. He left his JC team after the first semester. From a story in the LA Daily News about his working out with Steph Curry: After committing, Murphy came home to Calabasas to finish his semester via online classes and focus on the health of his foot. He broke his foot near the end of his redshirt freshman season at Charlotte.

This made me very happy...and yes, I even teared up a bit. Good for Tiger, great for golf!

    Thirteen years ago

February: The AD had dinner at an Omaha Steakhouse with Rick Majerus. The press caught wind of it. "We were just talking about our moms." March: The basketball team won two games in the Big 12 Tournament, qualified for the NIT (where they lost in the first round), undercutting/preventing the AD's plans to fire the coach and replace him with Majerus. April: Ace recruiter Scott Spinelli quits to go take a job with … anyone else. April-May: Aleks Maric puts his name in for the NBA draft; heads home to Australia at the end of the school year. May-June: Barry Collier cannot find ANYONE legit to replace Spinelli on staff; ends up hiring Jamel White's uncle, an AAU coach from NYC, to replace Spinelli on staff. April-July: Norm Peterson is in the depths of despair about the future of Husker Hoops. Whenever anyone talks about "rock bottom," it didn't get any lower for me than this. July: Barry Collier resigns as NU Hoops coach to become AD at Butler. August: Nebraska hires Doc Sadler to replace Barry Collier. August 2006: Norm Peterson thinks things are looking up and it's maybe not so bad after all. Thirteen years ago this spring, optimism about the future of this program was the polar opposite of where it is today.

  16. I prefer Phil, but I have a lot of respect for what Tiger accomplished, after basically being left for dead, professionally... and personally (in some ways).

  19. It's been fourteen years since Tiger won his 4th Green Jacket. Today, Eldrick Woods won his 5th Masters Tournament. Incredible, particularly so after 4 back surgeries in the past 6 years.

    Walton out - Lue in?

Was surprised the Kings fired Joerger. He had them playing well and an entertaining style plus a young roster.

  24. That's probably what Doc will be making. Lutz would be less, I'd imagine.

  29. This is why that story about Lue being interested in the NU job was so confusing to me. Walton was a dead man walking and now it’s between Lue and Monty Williams for the Lakers job.

  32. It would be interesting had Miles been at Nebraska during Doc's timeline and Doc during Mile's timeline. I do believe you would be saying that Doc could recruit circles around Tim.....I think we are underestimating the challenges that Doc was facing in terms of facilities and the transitioning to the big ten. I think Doc was devastated when he was let go, because he saw the opportunity with his coaching ability to be able to start attracting better talent.

  35. A waiver would mean immediately eligible. Who knows there. Otherwise: • Top-five JC prospect Jervay Green - Immediate• Former Oklahoma State forward Maurice Calloo - mid semester 2019-20• UNLV transfer Joel Ntambwe - 2020-21• UNLV transfer Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua - 2020-21

  36. I just don’t see it. It’s not like fans would want him back as head coach so Hoiberg won’t be looking over his shoulder. I think this speaks a lot more about Sadler than it does Hoiberg. It takes some real humility to come back and be an assistant where he once was head coach.

  37. Going back through Doc's old twitter account has been fun

  38. I don't think it's weird. There are quite a few reasons why he might take this step. Money is an obvious one. Another could be that he has worked under Hoiberg before. He might want to take on a smaller role. Plus... as you have said... he loves and has always loved Nebraska. That going away presser was one of the hardest I have ever seen.
