  1. I think most of the people on this board have moved forward, but you seem to be stuck at pointing out the program's historical flaws. Come join us, it should be a fun ride.

    Roster Attrition

Moos was obviously quietly calling around to find a new coach last year to try and replace a coach who won 22 games. Didn't happen. Prior to that you're looking at Eichorst making a hire. This year you fire Miles before the end of the season or NIT and you turn a very popular coach in Miles into more of a martyr which is asking the team to transfer out and giving our recruits more time to be stolen. The Miles era lasted an appropriate length. Turns out it isn't great to show lack of character when you're horribly wrong about rooting against your own team.

  5. I was in a group chat with some Creighton Fans (sorry, I am a Prep grad) and the consensus was Nebraska overpaid. After about the 3rd text containing WAY OVERPAID, I replied . "yeah we could have bought a lot of Brian Bowens for that...."

  6. Ha! Sold-out auditorium for the entirety of the Vault’s existence. Conference and National Coach of the Year a few years ago. Having a record, last year, that’s good-enough for an NCAA appearance by a B1G team for 60+ years in a row (screwed by a Jay Chair). Going 3-0 against the Big East during the year your Coach is fired. Going 1-1 against the Big 12 (the loss was to a Final Four team) during the year your Coach is fired. Being ranked before one of your best players gets hurt—the year your Coach is fired. Beating several Dance teams, using a drastically-reduced roster, requiring that we use a walk-on extensively. Never having a scandal. Bringing in academically-strong players. Being a good ambassador for the University. Pulling in a home-run hire after your Coach is fired. There are many metrics. Miles had his faults. Hoiberg is a massive upgrade. But there is much to be appreciative for.

    NCAA Tournament thread

A battle of 2 shady coaches goes to Auburn. Both teams probably have a larger player payroll than G-League teams. ?

  8. I guess I don't get why I am such a looser for being happy for a bunch of college kids getting to do what they like... no LOVE to do. I know after my last football game in college I really would have loved to play another game or two. Just me I guess, feel good for the boys because in the long run it doesn't matter what I think about it.

  9. Show me where. I'll hang up and listen now. Look, many of us on here have been looking for and expecting more out of this program. I was over the Miles hype 2 years ago and was in the "well, let's see if the administration will finally prioritize basketball" group. I don't care who our coach was or wasn't, we had a group of players who still wore the Nebraska uniform and wanted to play. If that meant the administration was going to keep Miles, then so be it. If it meant getting rid of Miles, then so be it. I'm glad the administration is at least showing signs that basketball has taken a higher priority now, and with that comes higher expectations from our new coach. If things don't start off as well as we would hope, you know the majority of this board is going to do what they can to support the coach. If that means that Hoiberg's squad is in the NIT, people will show up and support the team. If it's the NCAA, people will show up in droves, just as I have the past couple of NCAA tournaments we have been to.

    Eating crow thread

Hey, I'm happy to hand a pretty internet award to HoiBall for getting it right early. After all, that was my advice to him after his first wayward post. So......well played, brother! Enjoy a well-earned gloating period! I'm not eating crow, though. They give me gas.

Script huskers at center court, nothing else. No two tone stain colors. Just basic, simple. Clean look like Indiana please. If you want some color, then maybe whitewash the 3 second lanes similar to the NCAA tournament courts.

  27. Not even close. Need Hotels with lots of meeting rooms in addition to more rooms than all the hotels we have in Lincoln combined. has to have at least one 1000 room hotel in it...and I think with all the boutique hotels Lincoln might just be over that number. HOWEVER (I help put on conventions) I know that there is not even close to enough meeting spaces to meet their requirements. And an airport that is bigger than a "turn left for Delta's gate and turn right for United's gate."

  28. Unless I'm misinterpreting what PimpMario is trying to say, this isn't correct. Here's how it works. You donate money to get season tickets for football, basketball, etc. Whatever sport it is, you get priority points toward your general Athletic Department account. Each year, there is a Seat Yourself process where everyone is ranked based on their total Athletic Department priority points. This is the order that you get to look at open basketball seats and try to improve your tickets. Now, you do have to pay the basketball-specific donation that is tied to the season tickets that you choose (which varies from $0 for the majority of the arena, up to $1000 for the top club section), but in terms of the order that you get to choose your seats, football and basketball all go toward the same ranking system. In terms of trying to get better basketball seats, your best bet would to be give a large one-time donation. Priority points are worth three times extra in the year that they are given, so a large one-time donation would give you a temporary boost before that donation just rolls into the normal lifetime giving amount the next year. But, I would guess that this year, the season ticket turnover will be very low so this would be a futile effort. You may want to wait 1-2 years when season ticket turnover will be at a more normal level. @HoiBall

  46. I called it when he was a junior in high school. I said potential lottery pick. You all can go back and check his recruiting thread. If he's a first round pick, he SHOULD leave. He'd be nuts to come back. Go make some bank in the NBA, finish your degree on your time, and when it's time to hang the sneakers up, go be a coach or a color guy on ESPN. And, Isaiah, it was very nice to have known you and you'll always hold a special place in Husker hoops history.
