  1. Two pieces of advice that I try to give myself in this situation: 1. Just go ahead and trust the AD in his decision to extend Miles' time. He's either got something lined up or he doesn't. But that doesn't affect us right now. We can complain about it later. 2. Don't worry about next year's roster until the offseason banter period. It just changes so much that it'll keep your head spinning. Let's first see if we have a coaching change, let the players make their decisions, then start evaluating our next season. There's much more uncertainty with the players and their own future themselves than there is with us. Point being, I'm just riding the hype train and seeing where it goes until Moos or the NCAA says we can't play anymore basketball in March. Who knows what's going to happen in Fort Worth this weekend, but I'm just excited this team is still fighting!

  3. Brutal night for Jacobson vs Ohio St. His game is a lot more suited to the Big 12 so really a smart move for him to move there.

  4. Beat me to it. And I still don't know what Miles or this team has to do with any of this. Moos allowed for Miles' season to continue which likely means he was buying time or he was very confident about locking up a new coach during that time.

  5. This whole situation is so sad. I'm not talking only Nebraska Basketball, but the way this board is handling what's going on. It's a reflection of our politics today. You disagree with me? Then, I hope your family dies in a firey car crash. GF'NBR!

  6. Not what I heard, ISU coach to Alabama and you guessed it Freddie back home, and I don't mean his birth city. Would almost like to see this happen just to watch your head explode. Sincerely, Silverbacked1 AKA #1Husker FanBoy.

At my advanced age, I would gladly take a victory in a play in game.

  8. I enjoy the "firm and final" aspect of Lars Anderson's info. He had Frosty's contract situation portrayed accurately well before it was public knowledge.

  9. The Bill Moos hate on this board is so strange to me. So the guy gets hired in October 2017. Clearly his focus was on the football team. Riley was going to get fired. Moos in statements said that he would "wait till the season was over to evaluate the football program." While this was happening he worked behind the scenes to secure Frost. The Saturday after the season finale he fires Riley. Meanwhile in the basketball they come out of nowhere and finish with one of the best win totals in school history (poor schedule) and still don't make the NCAA tournament. Moos makes his expectations clear to Miles. This year was suppose to be Miles best team (despite poor roster management) but they implode after Copeland injury. After the regular season Moos puts out a statement that he will evaluate the basketball program after the season. Similar to Frost he has been working behind the scenes to secure Hoiberg. Once the NIT is over, Miles will be fired the next day. Sorry for the Oral History, but I just don't get the outrage. His expectations have been clear to Miles. If a guy is consistent with his not commenting on job status till the season is complete, what do you want him to do? If he's not making public statements or support about one program, why another?

  10. Silver I must be a bad person/fan too, because had I been in Lincoln, I would have bought you a drink of choice and gone and sat at the game and cheered with you and 10,000 other bad fans. Oh and yes I loved the win Thursday night.

Thanks for the love. We're closed on Sundays, but I would have opened for an afternoon game. Maybe next year when we're playing for a spot in the Sweet Sixteen!

Well, they probably only play 9 or 10 guys. They need the extra time off.

    Gutless statement from Moos

Locking up a program changing coach and playing an NIT game are not mutually exclusive. If you had a remote clue you would know that. But you don't. You're just a troll.

  17. NCAA won't do anything. I wish the FBI would legitimately beat-down the cheating fools within college basketball. Let's level the proverbial playing field. All the teams who try to do things right should be rewarded with odds that are ever in NU's favor. ?

  21. I had the opportunity to adjudicate some justice on Iowa fans at Wings & Rings today. It was a nice, well-reasoned exchange. I told 'em Iowa sucks. Too bad they happened to slop out to win (later), or that would've been that much more sweet. Oh well. Now, NU FB needs to pound 'em into oblivion for these past 4 seasons' worth... ?

  23. Aaaaaaaaand Davison flops in the first minute vs Oregon. NCAA referees call a blocking foul. Big Ten referees everywhere don't understand the call.

  24. What I don't get about the NBA is why they love youth and potential so much....especially when most of the young guys (other than the elites like we expect out of Zion) don't really start coming into their game until the end of their rookie contract. I look at a guy like Malcolm Brogdon and think he is an incredible value for the Bucks...compared to a guy like Thon Maker that has huge upside, but you have to cut bait near the end of their rookie contract because they are just not ready.

Interesting that they’d even try that. Bill Callahan had a provision in his contract here that he couldn’t be reassigned, as funny as a move to head toilet cleaner would have been. Figured it was standard contract language at this point.

Surprising (to me, at least) to come back to this self-promotion a mere two weeks later, and this lil' ol' former Auroran also has somehow surpassed the great 9er as well... and, even though I have lost 7k posts in the numerous transitions from various HHC platforms along the way, AH now needs to only consume another 3-4k to overtake the dime droppin' one. ? NOTHING CAN STOP ME, I'M ALL THE WAY UP! ?

  36. Yes, every Husker fan ever wants to continue down a path of mediocrity. You pegged it. #sheesh By the way, GET OFF MY LAWN! ?

  37. Yep. Hoiberg basically runs NBA sets, as well, so he'd prep Isaiah for the league while Roby is still learning the nuances of the game. Get better while in Lincoln, which could serve to assist in Zay having a substantial NBA career instead of one riding the pine in NBA venues or, heaven forbid, more of a G-League status than #baller.
    1 point
  38. I hope Roby's ppl have the same idea. I certainly hope so. He still has a few holes in his game that he could shore up in college. The pro level doesn't typically teach players the nuances of the game like they try to do at the college level. Either you're good enough in the league from the jump or you ride the pine...

I have no idea if this is true or not but I suspect it is from reading years of his articles. Sipple is a mouth piece for the university is the consensus. So if he is actually putting his name to an article with this info I am not concerned. Best I've got .

You clearly do suck as a fan. That has been made abundantly clear the past few days. You don't support our players at all due your own goofy misplaced agenda. So glad U called yourself out. Cheering for us to lose does not equal a Husker fan.

  45. Somehow, someway... if we lose Hoiberg... it’ll be Tim Miles fault.

  46. I think this speaks in large part to how miles has ran the program. Clean, likeable, and now showing another side with some toughness. This wasn’t a complete no brainer by any means, and there remain people on both sides of the fence and many of us sort of straddling that fence. This is why this is a big deal. I think many folks feel Miles deserved good treatment on the way out at the very least. This leads to probably making Moos actions a bigger deal than they may actually be.

  47. That was an awesome game and night. Great crowd, into it all night. Butler a bunch of chippy thugs. #5 ran his mouth all night. Man that was fun. i'm gonna always remember the last 10 days. Just remarkable. It's not gonna change anything, but to see a team come together against ridiculous odds and fight, claw and scratch for each other will always be a good memory for them, and for many of our fans. So many cliches fit. So proud of these guys. And proud to blow away the other NIT venues in attendance. Anyone who says this is meaningless struggles to understand sports, and life.

  49. I agree with the ultimate decision to rescind the original decision in this situation. That said, taking it one step further, I believe media members need to be held accountable for fake news stories, embellished stories and/or reckless reporting. I believe in this day and age of social media and immediate story access, media members can get caught pulling the trigger without having all the facts.
