  1. 16-2, 7-0... fringe Top 25? Really. Come on man. It seems like some on here are trying to make them “less good” in order to sound more frustrated. Y’all are trying to downplay those who say they were good... only to “up-play” trying to make MSU sound like Iowa and Indiana in the same breath. My goodness.

  2. If you look at the KenPom bench minutes stats we are 348th in the country so yes we are playing the starters a lot. However, we're not playing a West Virginia/Illinois up and down sort of style of ball. Our tempo is 285th in the country. The team that is 349th in the country in bench minutes is St. Johns which plays at a faster pace that we do. The team this is 350th is Michigan and I would think there would be consensus here that John Beilein knows what he's doing.

  4. with langford, they are a legit top 15 team. but the team that we played in lincoln was barely a top 25 team, and we should have won. very frustrating loss. nowhere near one of the best teams to play in lincoln. we played some extremely good kansas teams.

  5. Last years KU was better, Wisconsin that went to the Final Four was better, that was a nice MSU team but hardly anything to get all that jazzed about. If we would have shot 50% from the field we win...

  6. Minn is playing tight defense..is what's keeping them close. Put Veebeek in the post and let her take over the game. They have quick guards, but not quick or big in the post. Verbeek could score 10 more in foul shots Cain rarely shots free throws...wonder why Continue to drive to the bucket and let them foul us

  7. We're not hitting shots very well early ...but still ahead at the end of 1st. Minn makes lot's of ....poor skills mistakes. Thanks Minn ! Freshmen get it done......pretty simple observation

  8. Game program has Mershon as the probable starter. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

  9. I think what TimSmiles is referring to is the fact that two of their better players were unavailable. If they are available, Mich. State may be a final four team although I think Winston had an unusually strong game which will be difficult to replicate consistently.

  10. Moos seemed to write off last year's team due to injuries. I don't think he'd take it as well this season. "The Nebraska baseball team won a Big Ten regular-season conference title in 2017, then struggled in 2018, failing to make the league tournament. Moos wasn’t overly concerned about coach Darin Erstad’s team bouncing back, though, with the return of four pitchers who had been injured. “That’s like losing your quarterback or your point guard,” Moos said. “Darin and his staff were trying to piece it together and get through the year.” Moos said Erstad is “very excited” about the 2019 season." https://www.omaha.com/huskers/blogs/nebraska-a-d-bill-moos-husker-apparel-sales-way-up/article_03fbeedd-7bb1-544d-bfa3-e083b96f764e.html

  11. Here’s an OBTW... that Michigan team we beat by 20 last year in Lincoln played for the National Title. Is this years MSU team better than that? Perhaps. Those Badger teams, and a number of Big XII teams other than Kansas. OU had some very good teams, Mizzou, Durant @ Texas. As someone above mentioned, don’t allow yerself to be too swayed by the here & now.

    The Media Thread

Only problem with that stat is that every team we play will have two players her face every second. If so...she's now a decoy Like I keep saying over and over.....TAYLOR SHOOT MORE ! Weideman (sp) (Omaha Westside last year - 3 time all state)...last week, was the national 3 pt pct leader ..freshman now at Wyo.

    Blind Resume Test

I'll give it some time to let more people submit their responses, but I'll post the teams sometime tomorrow.

  15. The first sentence of the first post is "I can't think of a better team in the last 25 years that I've seen at a Nebraska home game." I find that statement extremely hyperbolic, and I haven't been a fan (or alive) nearly as long as most members of this message board. '07 KU was the first that came to mind simply because of how resoundingly they embarrassed us, but there are many other teams we've played that were above this year's MSU.

  16. That's a good one. The thread title is "best team since..." so if that's your answer it's pretty high praise for this MSU team. There have been a whole lot of really good teams to come through Lincoln in the last 12 years.

  17. Darrell Arthur. Mario Chalmers. Sherron Collins. Darnell Jackson. Sasha Kaun. Brady Morningstar. Russell Robinson. Brandon Rush. Julian Wright. That '07 Kansas team had 3 NBA first rounders on it, and 7 total guys that played in the NBA. Plus dudes like Robinson and Morningstar on top of that. Anyone who thinks this year's MSU is better than '07 KU has some serious recency bias.

  19. Agree wholeheartedly. This team is not as good as people making them out to be IMO.

  20. Saw on the Rivals board one publication has Nebraska #9 in the Big Ten. Obviously pre season predictions don’t mean much but if we miss the Big Ten tournament again....

  22. Nebraska Cornhuskersvs. 23/25 Minnesota Golden GophersSunday, January 20, 2019, 5 p.m. (CT)Pinnacle Bank Arena (15,000) - Lincoln, NebraskaLive Television: ESPN2Live Radio: Husker Sports Network (4:45 p.m.)Matt Coatney (PBP), Jeff Griesch (Analyst)Lincoln-B107.3 FM; Omaha-ESPN 590 AMHuskers.com, Huskers App, TuneIn From what i saw watching Min. play this year....think we'll win it. It's a home game. We must have someone step up for 15-20 points. Need the leadership of a scorer., to infect the rest of the team with offense. Taylor doesn't shot enough. We don't seem to have figured out how to use Cain effectively. Passing in from the perimeter doesn't fit her skill set. Possible solution: Drive into the lane and pass off to her. She's usually deadly form inside the lane once she has the ball, but not real quick to make moves. May sound dumb...she should have been red shirted. But at 6-5 ...how do you let her ride the bench. But...another but...needs to have some one school her (and even the staff) on post play. Hire a tutor over the summer...what ever.
