  1. The Fighting Hornets already have three wins this year. One is against a rock formation or a terrier (Cairn) and another is against Delaware (big rivalry win). But this one is my favorite:

  2. We completely dominated the #20 team on this list. I’m gonna print off a copy so I have something to wipe my ass after Christmas dinner.

  3. They no longer have a Creighton Prep grad on the team, so the chances of them bringing a Jaysker cheering section is none to minimal, as are the odds that one of their dudes will try to take out our best player on a fast break.

  5. In this most Holy time of year, let us stop and count our blessings. Friends, family, a wonderful arena that’s always sold out, a Top 25 program and a Bigfoot convention that meets annually in Hastings...

  6. Good ones probably average about 30-35. They should all be fine though. Only playing two games a week. Remember last year the schedule was condensed so they could play the BTT at Madison Square Garden.

  8. Road games remaining ranked by mostly likely NU victory to least likely: Rutgers Illinois Penn State Iowa Maryland Indiana Purdue Michigan State Michigan I think we can win four of those, starting with Rutgers, Illinois and Penn State, plus one of the next two over Iowa or Maryland. Combine that with 9-1 at home, that's 23-8, 13-7. I like @Nebrasketball1979's confidence in our going 14-6, though, and could even see us at 15-5 if things break right. That written, I'll take 11-9 and an eight seed if that's where this road leads.

  9. The guys need a “scrimmage” against someone other than themselves to get back in the groove after a week off and getting away from basketball for Christmas. Don’t want to be shaking that off with maryland.

  18. In a recent video, Katz said “I need to see more from Nebraska.” I don’t care who you are. There’s no way you can have 36 teams ahead of us.

Well, we do only have one Quadrant 1 win. Here's where we stand: Q1: 1-2 Q2: 2-0 Q3: 2-0 Q4: 5-0 Like you said, there's still plenty more opportunities. We just need to capitalize on them.

Santa Claus will be delivering some stocking stuffers for everyone on HHC. But don't be alarmed when you see it. Those NyQuil chasers are only to be used on an as-needed basis, which hopefully won't be necessary in 2019.

  21. @Red Don with the perfect score. That now makes 4 perfect predictions by this board in 12 games. Wow! The MLB batting average in 2018 was 0.248, and we're batting 0.333 here!

The concern about mono is getting a ruptured spleen from contact on the court. The risk for a ruptured spleen is typically about one month. The medical staff knows this.

  30. Sure, but the Big Ten was down this year. And given that many of the P5s are playing much worse than the Big Ten did last season, I'm sure they'll conveniently forget that and still give the SEC 7+ teams.

  31. It's certainly much better than scheduling a team like Delaware State. That win hurt us more than ever playing them in the first place.

Not all mono cases are the same. As I stated previously in another thread, there can be longer term, even severe side effects, from mono. Inflamation of the spleen, weight loss, and fatigue. Recovery from mono can be very short to 3 months. I'm not trying to be intentionally negative, but until we know more, which we may not, or Amir returns to the court I wouldn't count on him contributing anytime soon. Other than Glynn saying he will be back soon as anybody heard anything official from TM?

  35. So this is kind of interesting. As I joked in another thread recently, I'm not used to "seeding discussions" when it comes to Nebraska basketball. I was curious if there are certain seeds that are more advantageous with the 1 v. 16, etc. layout of the bracket. I looked at the historical NCAA tournament records by seed, by round, and assigned points to advancing to each round: 1 to the 2nd round, 2 to the Sweet 16, then 4, 8, 16, and 32 for winning the championship. Then I calculated the expected points value for each seed based on historical results. Not surprisingly, the 1 seed has by far the best expected value and there is a general downward trend from there. But, it's not a perfect pattern. For example, the 6 seed actually has a higher expected value than a 5 seed. This is largely because 6 seeds have advanced to the Elite 8 nearly twice as often as 5 seeds, because they don't have to play the 1 seed in the Sweet 16. Another interesting phenomenon is that 10 and 11 seeds have performed better than 9 seeds - again likely related to avoiding the 1 seed matchup, in the 2nd round. Connecting this to Nebraska, we are currently projected as a 4 seed or 5 seed on most sites. But, don't fret if we fall to a 6 seed. History would say we are no worse off if we fall to the 6/11 game.

  37. We now have another fricking week off. Ugh!! Ok... with the week off... I have a question. More likely scenario.... 1. Big 10 gets 10 bids 2. PAC 12 only gets 1 bid.

  39. You might have better luck taking the design to a company to make a patch, then sew it on to a plain hat, then wait for the 100 mile long line of people waiting for you to make one for them. That...or wait 100 years for the Nebraska athletic department to realize how large of a market they're missing out on by neglecting the Nebrasketball culture.

  41. I hadn't really dug into it that deep yet. I was just looking for Nebraska & Creighton. But if 10 teams get in, that shows just how strong the conference is this year.

    Big Ten season...

right now I see the big red winning 7 or 8 games. We could win more if we find some type of offensive identity and we raise the energy level on defense. How do we have a 55% shooter from 3 and we're only getting 4 looks a game. Sam great at finishing at the rim, but can she dish. Our post has a nice falling away shot, but does not seem to want to attack the rim. Off the bench our other post attacks the rim but does make some freshman mistakes. Seriously we have great pieces no identity on offense, which is why we start great and lose games second and third qtr. . We get off game plan and go to individual habits. 4th we battle back and fall short. Critical plays at critical times who is going to make them. Defensively our effort depends on offensive successes. We do not increase efforts when the ball is not falling. We should build identity on the defensive side first, the ball will eventually fall

  43. Yeah, Summerall didn't even have an NU cap on the table. A really nice haul on the recruiting front. Just need to find a good OLB, DB and D lineman. Plus Bland to qualify and come here.

  44. I was actually thinking about this the other day. I can't believe how many schools out there with Nike contracts have had their logo/uniform design basically destroyed by Nike with their horrible template uniforms and extremely bland logo designs with their spiky serif fonts and mascot designs that all look the same. Thank God we have been able to retain most of our branding identity with Adidas. We have this: and we don't have to suffer with Nike shitshows like this: http://www.sportslogos.net/logos/view/4678/Baylor_Bears/2005/Wordmark_Logo http://www.sportslogos.net/logos/view/63556372012/Central_Florida_Knights/2012/Primary_Logo http://www.sportslogos.net/logos/view/65295032013/Creighton_Bluejays/2013/Wordmark_Logo http://www.sportslogos.net/logos/view/70628172014/Illinois_Fighting_Illini/2014/Wordmark_Logo http://www.sportslogos.net/logos/view/td4qe3dqf6cgkhw7whkh1715x/Iowa_State_Cyclones/2007/Wordmark_Logo http://www.sportslogos.net/logos/list_by_team/808/Providence_Friars/
