  1. I’ve always like McDermott for some reason - seemed like a good dude. Miles always lost and took it like a champ. Tonight the tables flipped and McDermott took it like a sore freaking loser. It was pathetic. Hopefully he grows up a little bit, I always appreciated his and Miles banter. He apparently can only be on one side of the table.

  3. Underrated play of the game: Nana Akenten diving about 10 ft to secure a loose ball that would have ended up in Creighton’s hands. That dude is 100% bought in

  5. I'm so hungover this morning and do not care NU played so hard and so well Pitino is a jackwagon amateur - McDermott clearly has the butt-hurt jackwagon corner all to himself Ballock needs to go in Monday morning and demand a raise and a better job for his parents - without him that game is about 100-49

I know we have goals bigger than just making the tournament, but Bart Torvik's numbers are still holding strong that we will only need 19 wins to make the tournament. I'll believe it when I see it - 20 seems the safer magic number to shoot for - but at 8-2, we could practically sleepwalk our way to 20 wins at this point. That's merely playing 0.500 ball the rest of the way (meaning we could very realistically go 9-11 in conference play and still make the tournament). Bubble talk seems trivial right now, but I guess old habits die hard. I'm unfamiliar with this new term they call "seeding talk." ?

  14. The absolute most fun I’ve had at PBA since No Sit Sunday. As a life long fan and obsessed over this series, not sure I would’ve believed we’d win in a 3 pt shoot out Sounds cliche, but we absolutely wanted it more Greg McDermott seems typically normal, but man, he’s butt hurt My voice is gone Im going to watch the game tonight on my DVR with a lot of joy - I was in the minority, but I told my inner circle of Husker fans friends the Minny loss, while regrettable, actually probably fueled our players Fire tonight. Order Restored

  15. A few thoughts: - We won't shoot like that most nights, but for tonight, it was great. Felt cathartic. Team was locked in from the jump and just didn't give the Jays much room to get back into it. - Palmer was a superstar tonight, even with the foul trouble. - Tom was the difference tonight, though. He was just terrific. If we can bring that more consistently, NU will be really hard to guard. - Glynn was really good tonight. - I'm usually pretty cynical about the whole "they want it more" crowd, but NU was diving after loose balls, even some that weren't all that loose. They were getting seemingly all the rebounds and 50/50 balls. It was one of the scrappiest efforts I think I've ever seen from NU. - Tanner and Brady, though they played sparingly, gave some really good minutes. - Nana, too. - Ballock is really good. He had a career night. Without him, this might have been a 40 point laugher. - This game looked like a gam between a veteran, savvy team and an inexperienced team in it's first road game. - This game felt a lot like 2013 in the reverse. NU didn't get the separation CU did in that game, but CU couldn't miss. That's what it had to feel like for CU tonight. And it was pretty terrific. - I couldn't be the only one that was super nervous when that thing got down to 13 at half? - I like this team a lot. If they can bring this effort, or something close to it more regularly, they're going to be tough to beat. Maybe impossible in PBA. - The Red Zone is vicious. - I really, really wanted 100... - The stats say the Jays were a bad defensive team coming into this thing. The game played out that way. NU really got about whatever they wanted tonight. And they shot it about as well as I've ever seen them do. That's a recipe for what we saw tonight. - The crowd was really great tonight. Well done, everyone. It was number 2 for me, right behind NSS. - I had other thoughts while I was typing this up that I forgot about before I could get them typed out...

  17. GG Huskers. You've got a talented senior-laden squad and we've got a talented team that's the youngest in the Big East. It showed tonight. Enjoy your seniors because they look like they've finally figured it out. We've got two 7-ft underclassmen that didn't know what to do and your bigs showed them how to play. Add to that your hot hand on the shooting side and it's was game over. I love our offense but Coach Mac needs to find some defense like yesterday. Looking forward to next year and my one post on this board 365 days from now. Make same noise in the B1G and smack Ohio State for us. Go Jays. ?

  18. "The Fuskers" are pretty good, huh? "The employees beat the employers." Some of my favorite holier than thou language from the Creighton Blue Jays (space intentional) message board. Also discovered from reading that "Creighton wins on a neutral floor many more times than not." The all-time series is back to tied, and in the moment, WE have the bragging rights. If CU would like to cherry pick the last 15 years, that's understandable. We'll just cherry pick the 50 years before that and tonight. Go Fuskers and look forward to seeing the employers at Memorial Stadium in the fall cheering on the employees!!!

  21. I honestly don’t think McDermott can be on the other side of it. He’s fine with dishing it out and playing around with Miles when he’s on the other end, but the minute he realizes Miles bitched him, suddenly he can’t handle it. This is coming from someone who enjoyed their banter for the past few years, seemed all in good fun.

  23. One underrated and not talked about aspect of this years team is our improved rebounding. We don’t have one great rebounded but as a team we have really improved especially our gaurds getting involved more. Borchardt does a heck of a job boxing out while in there

  25. I really like our team and the future. But I wish this board would get off the “freshman” vs “rest of team” bandwagon. The freshman are very very good and talented and very energetic. I love them. But I have been to a couple games and every kids jersey says Nebraska and there are no special markers for what grade they are in school. They are all 11 on one team. I have said it over and over u defend, rebound, share the ball, and protect the ball to earn more minutes. If you look at the stats it supports that. — starters have 104 assists to 93 turnovers on the year and non starters (6 kids) have 49 assists and 56 turnovers. Not one non starter is shooting over 25 percent from the theee point line and all starters are. That is not because of ability. It is because game is faster and athletes are better than high school and it takes some time to settle in for every freshman in America. Eventually we may have some shift in minutes and in starts if appropriate but it won’t happen until assists and shooting percentages go up for non starters and turnovers go down. Relax and let it play out. Enjoy the journey watching them all get better.

  31. 1. Crowd brought it tonight. Only one better was when we played Wisconsin on Senior night in 2013-2014 season. 2. JPJ came to play. 3. All 5 starters in double figures. It won't be the last time we see that happen this season. 4. Nana, Tanner, and Brady gave valuable minutes, especially Tanner. I really really like how TM has managed the bench this season. 5. McDermot can dish it out but he certainly can't take it. 6. How does that feel Creighton fan? Hope you enjoy wearing this one for the next year. 7. I'm not going to look ahead tonight. Just going to enjoy this one.

  32. Something occurred to me that is sort of funny. The high flying dunk team performed at half. Typically they are well received and the crowd is into the high flying acts. But tonight, it was really a passive reaction. The crowd was loud both halves, but at half time we sort of rested.

  34. Update: We're still on track. I said we needed at least 7 of the 10 games. Split these last 2 and we get there. Win 'em both, and we're 8 wins in our last 10 and very much on track for the goals we hoped to reach. The ones we lost fell into the "acceptable" loss category. It sucked HOW we lost at Minnesota, but that's not going to look like a bad loss on our resume at the end of the season.

  35. -incredible -god that felt good -Palmer showed up big today -Tom Allen for Heisman tonight? -low key great game for Roby -Nana made some huge plays that won’t show up on the stat sheet -Brady and Borch continue to give great minutes off the bench that no other big we’ve had in the past few years have provided -Cope didn’t play his best and was still awesome -my only negative, sorry, but I’m recruiting as if I have one more scholarship than I do (Thor) this off season

  40. Notes *-Nebraska improved to 8-2 on the season, matchings its best 10-game start since also going 8-2 to open the 2010-11 season. *-Today’s attendance of 15,950 is the sixth-largest attendance in Pinnacle Bank Arena history and the second-largest attendance for a non-conference game at PBA. *-Nebraska’s 94 points marked the third-most points it has scored in 52 all-time meetings with Creighton. The only times the Huskers have scored more points were 100 points on Dec. 10, 1992 and 97 points on Dec. 6, 1990. *-Today marked the fifth time this season that Nebraska scored at least 80 points. *-The Huskers’ 19-point margin of victory tied for the third-largest margin of victory for NU-Creighton series and was the largest since a 71-52 win on Jan. 8, 1997. *-Nebraska extended its home winning streak to 17 straight games, with 12 of those victories by double digits. The 17-game streak marks the Huskers’ longest home winning streak since a school-record 20-game streak spanning the 1965-66 and 1966-67 seasons. Nebraska is 6-0 at Pinnacle Bank Arena this season, winning every game by at least 15 points. *-Nebraska hit 14 3-pointers in the game, one shy of its season high of 15 in the opener against Mississippi Valley State. Today marked the third time this season that Nebraska hit at least 10 3-pointers. *-The Huskers hit 14-of-27 from beyond the arc, shooting a season-high 51.9 percent from the 3-point line. *-All five Husker starters scored in double figures, marking the second time this season Nebraska has accomplished that feat (also against Southeastern Louisiana. Nebraska’s starters combined to go 29-for-51 (56.8 percent) from the field, including 13-of-24 (54.1) from 3-point range, while scoring 87 of the Huskers’ 94 points. *-James Palmer Jr. had a season-high 30 points, his second career 30-point effort. With his 30 points, Palmer went over 1,000 career points in today’s game and now has been in double figures in 40 of 43 career games at Nebraska. Palmer’s two highest scoring games of the season have come against Big East teams, as he scored a then-season-high 29 points on Nov. 14 against Seton Hall. *-Palmer hit a career-high six 3-pointers today, eclipsing his previous career high of five 3-pointers at Ohio State on Jan. 22, 2018 and at Virginia Tech during the 2014-15 season. Palmer finished 6-of-7 from beyond the arc and was 9-of-12 from the field and a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. *-Thomas Allen scored a career-high 18 points, topping his previous best of 14 against Delaware State on Dec. 22, 2017.

  41. That had to be the best environment I've ever been at for PBA (wasn't here for no sit Sunday) -Thomas Allen gets better every game. His defense is really impressing me. He's smart with his shot selection, which is probably one of the biggest things I've noticed. He's showing why he was a 4 star coming here -I don't think it's been mentioned, but those "big" lineups with roby, cope, and heiman seemed to actually work. -Roby is getting more aggressive. -james was hot from 3 all night. When he's hot like that he's virtually unguardable. -everyone that played contributed in some way. -amir could've been used I think, but his absence wasn't missed that badly -the rest of these games going into big ten play after the new year are very winnable. Let's go into big ten play with only 2 losses and keep it rolling.

  44. My goodness that felt good. So happy to get that monkey off of our back. Even more though... so happy to get that taste from Wednesday out of our mouth. 1. Every player that played did something. Period. Team win. 2. Starters wanted this from the get go. My goodness that is a Sweet 16 team when everything is clicking... if not more. 3. I can’t stand Creighton. With that being said, they were a decent team. That kid can shoot. My goodness. They’ll win some games in the Big East. Will probably dance. Great win. 4. I’m not afraid of anyone this year. Bring on anyone. We have the dudes to compete with anyone. Not worried about depth, not worried about scoring outside of top 5, not worried about playing away from home. 5. We’re good. Miles is a good coach as well. Like that offense tonight? We didn’t do anything different or spectacular. We just played and made shots. Took the right shots. So for everyone complaining about the offense sometimes... it’s not always the scheme. 6. 8-2 in our first ten. Wouldn’t be surprised to keep our ranking. How many of y’all would take that 10 games into the season. 7. We should beat OSU if we play anywhere near that. When I say beat... I mean beat. Should be 11-2 heading into two tough road games. Get to 12-3.... we’re talking seeding.

  46. I'll leave the more in depth analysis to others, all I'll say is, BOOM, that's more like it. Anyone know what Miles and the Creighton coach were yelling at each other about early in the game? And for the Creighton lurkers, good luck the rest of the season, need this to be a good win on the resume (for seeding purposes of course) ?
