  1. My evolution as a fan as the game went on: MoSt up early by a point Old Jayschool: "Oh, man. This is not good." New Jayschool: "Meh. It happens. We got this." MoSt cuts lead to 29-26 Old Jayschool: "OMG. This is that game, right? The one where we f8c4 up against a mid-major, right? ARRGGGHHH!!!" New Jayschool: "Hmm. MSU has some fight in 'em. This could be close." Roby posterizes some dude and Nana drains a 3: Old Jayschool: "Hey, who changed the channel? I wanted to watch Nebraska!" New Jayschool: "Yeah. That's what we do now." End of game, watching subs play out the string: Old Jayschool: (Has left the room) New Jayschool: "NEXT!"

  2. ShotTracker is pretty cool, but not on my TV.

  3. I know it was a long, long time ago, but it was JPJ that made a 3 pointer when Seton Hall had closed to within 2 pts after that fiasco tech. And it was JPJ that scored 28 in that game (yes, by getting to the rim). But the big shot was the 3 when it matter. I don't buy into JPJ stock is down because of one bad shooting night.

  4. We brought what I would say is our C+ game and won by 20+ points. That’s good news. Probably Palmers worst game we will see all year. With thanksgiving coming up im thankful that Akenten did not transfer. He is a legit threat from deep. The two threes he missed were down and out. Go Red Raiders tonight.

  7. #24 Huskers overwhelms Missouri St 85 - 62 Nebraska takes care of business as expected - I'm cool with the increased emphasis on taking 3's, but let's not settle for them. Felt like we did a lot early. - Glynn got a little sloppy at times, which was a little uncharacteristic. - But man, his shot is on point right now. - Husker defense is really good. Missouri St. had trouble getting any good looks. Everything was contested. - Palmer's got a little hitch in his stroke from deep. - Super solid minutes from the bench, all four of them. - Copeland was a huge matchup problem for Mo St. - It's fun to have more than one scoring option on the roster. - Liked the press at the end of the half. - Glynn has been the cutstopper this year. - Free throws, ugh... - Allen's defense has been a nice revelation so far this year. - Mo St. is pesky. - I'd be cool if the coaches told JPJ to not take another 3 for the next few games. - So far on this season, Cope has looked more like an NBA player than JPJ has. - I like a lot of what I've seen from Nana so far this year. - That roby block and Nana 3 in transition is the kind of thing that demoralizes teams like Mo St. - NU went on a 12-3 run after that. If Mo St. throws that thing down, they're energized, down 11 and you ever know. Instead, NU hits a transition 3 and is off to the races. - This is kinda what you expect in a game like this. Mo St. was hungry early and hung on, but NU's depth and talent was just too much in the end. - NU will get a chance for a really good win tomorrow, regardless of opponent. View full article

  10. Roby hasnt looked like a first round pick to me at all this year, EXCEPT for that stretch late in the second half where he was aggresive and looked so powerful and quick. That spin he had on his way to the basket was niiiiice. Dudes who are 6'8 and 230 cant usually move like that. That Roby is definitely an NBA player But we need to see that Roby more often. Glynn and Copeland are playing great bball right now. James not so much, i liked how he deferred to his teammates in the second half and picked up some nice assists. Nana is gonna be our spark plug off the bench. No other bench player is capable of scoring more than a couple points at the moment. Tom Allen hit some threes and collected FIVE steals. Thats awesome.

  11. Shot tracker making me a Shot guzzler. Looking forward to waving goodbye to that monstrosity. However, I'm also looking forward to playing with it after games. Great way to analyze movement and flow of a team. Just not ideal during the actual game.

  12. #24 Nebraska Cornhuskers (4-0) vs Texas Tech Red Raiders (4-0) ** HALL OF FAME CLASSIC ** Date: Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2018 Time: 8:30 p.m. Arena: Sprint Center Location: Kansas City, Mo. Broadcast: ESPN2 Link for Live Stats Texas Tech Head Coach: Chris Beard Location: Lubbock, Texas Conference: Big 12 Nickname: Red Raiders Mascot: Masked Rider, Raider Red - Due to the Masked Rider's requirement to ride a live horse, Raider Red is the preferred mascot for basketball Last time out: Beat USC Shirt not to wear: Scarlet, Black, Oakland Raiders Starters jacket Opening Line: Nebraska by 2 Great moments in twitter: Tim Miles puts out this two word tweet about Tubby Smith jumping ship from Texas Tech. April 15th was the same day Tech hired Beard away from UNLV where he'd just started in March after his magical tourney run at Arkansas Little Rock Players to watch: Jarrett Culver Culver is go-to scorer on this team as the unheralded Lubbock native put himself on the NBA draft radar as a freshman last year on the Red Raider's Elite 8 team. The projected next level 3 and D player should be tasked with guarding James Palmer in what should be an interesting individual matchup. KenPom Helps us look at the Lineup PG SG SF PF C Pct 1 13 Matt Mooney 6-3 200 Sr 25 Davide Moretti 6-2 175 So 23 Jarrett Culver 6-5 195 So 11 Tariq Owens 6-10 205 Sr 32 Norense Odiase 6-8 250 Sr 12.9 You might recognize Mooney and Owens from years past as Tech reloaded through grad trasnfers. Mooney was the SG who did some damage against us for Craig Smith's South Dakota team two years ago. Tariq Owens had 6 blocks for St Johns in their beat down which included Palmer getting T'ed up after scoring on Owens and letting him know about it. Itailian SG Davide Moretti is a 3pt sniper and Odiase is a glass cleaner who mostly scores on putbacks. Tech has a pretty shallow bench at this point that includes a couple of new faces the Huskers tried to recruit in Kyler Edwards and Deshawn Corprew after a year at JUCO. Both are capable but inexperienced scorers. Senior Brandone Francis plays minutes because he knows the system but isn't much of a threat to score. The Skinny: Nebraska has a couple of built in advantages here as they will have the home court advantage and Tech had to burn some legs to rally back against USC last night. It's probable that Beard and his packline defense will choose to protect the defensive boards as opposed to aggressively pursuing transition points as Tech attempts to grind out a win. Nebraska's defense has been elite thus far and should also keep Tech in tabs in what Vegas believes will be a low scoring game. It's possible that Culver gets the best of Palmer in this matchup but how is Tech going to cover Roby and Copeland? Cope has a good shot at locking down tourney MVP honors tonight. Nebraska individually has the advantage at most every position here but unlike USC is able to play defense. Tech will try and force Nebraska into a jump shooting team and once again you'll grit your teeth when 3s don't fall. It's ok...our combination of defense just means we need to be a decent shooting team and our shot chart is finally starting to look like we understand what is a good shot. One last ace up the sleeve: this is a pretty poor FT shooting team. Look for Nebraska to bend at times but never break as they look to win their first holiday tournament since the San Juan Shootout in 2000. Prediction: Nebraska 68 - Texas Tech 62 View full article

  13. Plenty of really nice hotels in downtown KC. Seriously, it's a great time! I drive to Lincoln all the time to go to games, no reason why you guys can't come to KC once in your life!!! (maybe twice if we make the Midwest regional final this year, LOL)

  14. Seriously, if you are even slightly thinking about coming down to KC tomorrow, DO IT! WE NEED all the huskers down here. Loud and proud!! Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

  23. Akenten/Allen vs. Taylor/Gill Certainly before the year started, we worried about our frontline because of Jordy's and Chan's departures, but the other area of concern involved replacing the contributions of Evan Taylor and Anton Gill, whether as starters or off the bench. While I acknowledge the sample size is way too small, here's what's happened so far, statistically. In general, these two sophomores are acquitting themselves well in place of two seniors. Shit gets real tonight, of course. The other comparison would be how Amir Harris is replacing Thomas' contributions, but they're such different players, it's not a fair comparison. Suffice to say that Amir is playing his role (defense, ball handling, dishing) well. 24. That's insulting. OUR conference network showing basically the offensive highlights of an opponent we SPANKED. The Bears made 11 FGs in the 1st half and BTN showed 6 them. Including one they replayed 3 times. Do you think they'd do that to Michigan or Wisconsin or Ohio State? What are we? Chopped liver?

  30. Tech it is, winners over USC by 15. They were down at half by 9 and came storming back in the 2nd half. This is who I wanted us to play. Not overwhelming length, which has given us troubles in the past. This should be a good match-up for us. Really good test to see how good we are on a neutral floor against a likely tournament team.

  32. Seriously? I pick 84-62 and still don't win the game??? I demand a Florida recount so that I am eventually declared the winner! In all seriousness, nice pick, even though you stole this from me ?

  33. One thing to note however is that Roby doesn't HAVE to be the man this year. He is probably our 4th option right now. Be interesting to see next year when he could and will have to dominate sometimes.

  34. I haven't seen them look remotely ruffled yet, other than the crappy T call the other day. Seems we just played two games in a row that were exactly the same. 2/3 sleepwalking, last 1/3 "oh, guess we should hit the spread now". Be interesting to see if this is a real trend or not.

  35. We played okay, but not great. Baseball13 graded it about right. I never, ever was worried about the game. We controlled it from the onset. In the second half, we sort of woke up and then put them away...big time. Ladies and gents...we have ourselves a pretty good team.

  48. I know polls this early in the season don't matter, so I'm sorry for this- but Wisconsin jumping us is a joke. Xavier lost like 90% of its scoring and their head coach - that win is no more impressive than our win over Seton Hall. Had to get that off my chest.
