    An Omen...

Found this at the Goodwill for $3.00 yesterday. It’s autographed by the entire 88-89 squad including Coach Nee. I’m taking it as a sign from the great Basketball Gods in the sky...

All the players have improved; especially the Juniors. Nicea, Grace & Hannah are the recruits that stuck with us, honoring their commitments after Yori left, when others did not. We would not be where we are without them.

  7. Butler might have been a poor example. My point is, teams that finish 4th in a Major Conference make a run at the Title ALL-THE -TIME. Why not us? To hell with winning “one” game!

  13. It would have been 47-38 with that try by Palmer; instead it ended up being 44-40 and them having the ball out of bounds. But they pissed off James Palmer, and you don't want to make James Palmer angry. You wouldn't like him when he's angry.

  15. Felt like that whole clown show ignited the crowd and the team. We outscored them by 19 over the last 13 minutes. Taurean Thompson absolutely imploded tonight....part of the reason we were able to live with Roby in phantom foul trouble. Tanner and Brady had to step up tonight and they were up to it. It seemed like after Palmer had that FT bounce around to the point that Nana was running up the court that he settled in and started playing like JPJ. Had as many makes at the Pirates at the FT line. Copeland was the statistical MVP of the game. Double-double and his shot was wet. He's very good at defending without fouling. Watson is locked in. This is going to be a special year. It turns out that "shorten the rotation" is code for Thor isn't going to play

The last time we had a team in the NCAA tourney discussion in November was a full generation ago. This is rarefied air for us. Make sure you breath it in and plenty of it. You don't know when you'll see it happen again.

Honestly can be said for every team left on our schedule outside of maybe Western Illinois, SW Minny State, and CSF.

    1. I'm glad we are rolling out what is, perhaps, our most talented team ever. 2. I'm glad our former bench (or doomed to be bench) players are getting good minutes contributing elsewhere. 3. 1 + 2 = TM is a miracle recruiter.

  26. Dominate, no. We seemed to control the game throughout and through most of the game we lead in the six to ten range. Our shooting was below average and that let SH hang in there. There were a chain of events (uhh, poor calls) that let SH get to within two. The crowd and the team then seemed to move to another gear and we went on a big run, allowing us to pull away the last ten minutes. So it wasn't a curb stomp, but it was a great game to watch and get absorbed in.

Butler was "far less talented" than us? Seriously? With Gordon Freaking Hayward? Brad Stephens is a great coach, but he wasn't doing it with a bunch of stiffs.

  30. For prep he plays mainly post against so so competition. On his AAU team he plays a lot of wing it sounds like and that’s what drew him all the offer this summer. Ideally for us he can hold his own at the 3 and 4. Probably not the 5. It sounded like he shot the 3 really well this summer so that’s encouraging

  33. Been saying this for years. When I was coaching CH-JR and CH-III I told the kids to move in and work on proper form. That making 4 of 10 from 2 point land beats 3 of 10 from 3 point land. Unfortunately, the baskets that could get lowered and raised came out and the kids spent more time working on the dunks ESPN was showing them.

How many scholarships do we have left and will we go after any transfers for next season. Looks like we are gaining three and losing two to graduation. Would like to see another center added to the team but preferably a freashmen.

Um Nana was a 3 star and I wouldn't say Brady was high 3 star. At least as far as 24/7 composite goes but they are playing super well so I don't really care about rankings.

  41. Michigan with the HUGE leap up from 27th to 11th! Indiana also makes a big jump up, 8 spots. Our Huskers get a nice 6 spot boost with their win, leapfrogging ahead of Ohio State (although I think that will probably be short lived, as OSU will likely jump back ahead of us after they beat Creighton tonight). Seton Hall drops 11 spots, hopefully they can get it turned around. USC only moves up one spot despite crushing Stetson by 36. Clemson is dropping, down now to 20th, due to posting relatively unimpressive wins versus 3 sub-250 teams. That's all the big changes for today, so here we go! KenPom rankings as of 11-15-18 ========================== B1G (0-0): 11. Michigan 14. Michigan State 17. Purdue 18. Indiana 19. Wisconsin 27. Nebraska 32. Ohio State 34. Maryland 35. Penn State 38.
