I snagged two really good tickets today for Mrs. cip and I to see James Taylor and Bonnie Raitt at PBA. I got to thinking, "I wonder what Nebraska's record will be then?" We haven't had contests here for awhile, so let's do one. If I counted correctly, the Huskers will have played 27 games to that point. Predict NU's record and whoever's closest will get 2 Nebraska Star Beef steaks and a bottle of our Signature Seasoning. The tie-breaker will be what position we'll be ranked in the sportswriters poll on Monday, February 18th. Good Luck! In honor of one of our team leaders, (the Huskers and HHC ) here's some JT.

Just an observation but in basketball, you get a quicker return on your money so to speak. You're only sending out 5 players at a time. If I buy three studs then I can compete nationally surrounding them with the other players I got legitimately. A big three seems to be the standard needed for real success in the NBA today. I buy three football players and for the most part that just means that those three get the shit kicked out them every Saturday. Football brings in more money but its about the numbers. If you want to be successful using questionable means in football you need more money to get more players. If by any means necessary I get three top 20 players to commit to a school like Dayton, Cleveland State or Cadwallader University (Fast Break is a very underappreciated bad basketball movie), they are now nationally relevant and that means they are now bringing in big money. Nothing to do with the post but explains my Cadwallader University reference.

I'd take an Evan Taylor, even, right about this time of year... Perhaps one of the Seniors will rise up in a B1G way this upcoming season. GBR

I'll be curious to see if Sports Illustrated mentions us this year for the first time in decades. Their NBA issue came out this week and the college one usually follows. And how about those Red Sox. (Sorry, I just had to throw this in somewhere).

I think he is almost back to full speed. He is only feeling pain/discomfort when he decelerates/breaks but getting going isnt an issue.

Rule needs to be that you can go straight to the NBA draft from high school if you want, but if not you have to go to atleast two years of NCAA.
