This is the kind of kid that in previous years, goes to SDSU or Creighton and blows up (Daum, K.Thomas, J. Patton) and Miles gets blasted for not being able to get them. I’d rather Miles take a gamble on an in-State kid than land another Nate Hawkins/Tarin Smith/Bakari type of gamble. His HUDL looks impressively athletic to me. If he is like another Ade, good lord we got a good one.3 points -

Throughout our history, Nebraska basketball has been considered an afterthought to Husker fans. Not to us die-hards, but to the State in general. In order of importance, it has been Football, Spring Football and then a pick em between Husker Basketball and Volleyball. Times are a changing. Football by far is still number one. Volleyball is certainly supported and talked about, but, Husker Basketball is now in many conversations. Now to the point. Many still fear that (because of history) sh** is going to happen this year and we will fall flat. Everyone has to get that thought or fear out of their ever loving minds. Husker basketball will be good this year, and the program culture is set to extend the quality of basketball for years to come. Our mindset must be...this year is going to find great success. We have on many occasions, had one or two good players on a team and met some success, but things are now different. I have always said; for a team to be a great team, you need three significant players and then a bunch of good role players. This team has that. We are also recruiting with an eye towards that formula for future teams. In years past, I had rose colored glasses on with the hope that we were going to be successful. Not this year! I know we are going to be good. I know we will be a top tier team. I know we will make the dance, and I know we will win games in the tournament. My expectations are set. I expect to win each and every game, and I will be disappointed with any loss. ANY LOSS. Have at it!2 points -

Having that said though, they just went on a run down of every team in the league and if you took their words all at face value you'd be convinced the Sweet 16 will feature 14 Big Ten teams and the bench squads from Michigan State and Michigan.2 points

To remind everyone, biggest take-away from playing 2-3 times with Palmer, Amir, Thomas, Nana, Brady, Tanner, etc. is that Palmer put on the best shooting performance I have ever seen. If there was video of him playing that day, all of us would be drooling through our computers.1 point

Valid point by Crispin. It's always been a double standard of expectations of greatness/disappointment that's generational.1 point -

It was Nee. Brought it with him from Notre Dame days. It was originally a Digger idea. Danny told the story of its origin one night at Barry's and it was hilarious. Wish I could remember more details. Danny's Digger stories were great. My memory is that Jeff Smith got the "eye in the sky" role at Nebraska.1 point -

Nebraska projected as 2.5 point dogs in our scrimmage with Iowa State per Three Man Weave. Don't agree with them, but still credit where it's due throwing this all together.1 point -

Just read/watched a tweet from Nebraska basketball. Prominently mentioned were Isaac, James, Isaiah, Glynn, Thomas, Brady, Dedoch, Amir and Nana. I would guess that very well may be our rotation; then again, who really knows.1 point -

We're just going to have to make sure that we dictate how the game is played. We are going to have to take true "bigs" out of the game with how we play. The nice thing is that we can do just that with our starting 5. We can very easily get other teams bigs in foul trouble with Copeland and Roby. As long as we play our game. You don't have to have a true big to be a top 20 team. You just have to be better at "your" game than they are at "their" game.1 point -

I think our starting 5 will be able to stand toe-to-toe with anyone we play. I'm only a bit worried about what we can bring off the bench. I had hoped against hope that Jordy would work hard at developing some post skills, which never materialized. But he could still come off the bench and fill the lane and put a body on someone like an Isaac Haas. We don't have a big big-man and we don't have size that can come in off the bench. We can play small ball with a couple of stretch 4s in place of an actual post, but we don't have that beast who can go in and bang and get some boards like a Tyler Cook at Iowa. I think we can check off all the other items on the list. But I worry if we have to go up against a team with a mobile, athletic, skilled big man. Defending the paint is still a concern.1 point -

It really is interesting seeing the tone that the local writers are taking during this whole allegation process. Instead of being investigative, they just spend their time defending the program and brushing aside facts. Even this article for example: https://www.omaha.com/creighton/mens-basketball/creighton-president-addresses-allegations-brian-bowen-sr-changes-story-slightly/article_4ea9000d-7fdf-5314-996e-b87c65827d9d.html It basically reads "Hey, so Creighton was implicated again by Bowen Sr. But don't worry about that. Worry about the way he said it. It's different now, which makes him suspect, ergo Creighton is a clean program. Are we good now?"1 point -

Advice to Jake: I don't usually listen to the games on the radio, but when I do I prefer my color announcer to be horribly biased in the home team's favor, whiney about the referees, and not afraid to throw in a bit of humor on occasion. But that's just me.1 point -
I think what you're trying to say is Creighton them. Creighton: To pay off, bribe, or give employment or a combination of such so a student athlete will play for you. Also see Arizona, Washington, NC State, Louisville, etc...1 point
