Advice to Jake: I don't usually listen to the games on the radio, but when I do I prefer my color announcer to be horribly biased in the home team's favor, whiney about the referees, and not afraid to throw in a bit of humor on occasion. But that's just me.

Throughout our history, Nebraska basketball has been considered an afterthought to Husker fans. Not to us die-hards, but to the State in general. In order of importance, it has been Football, Spring Football and then a pick em between Husker Basketball and Volleyball. Times are a changing. Football by far is still number one. Volleyball is certainly supported and talked about, but, Husker Basketball is now in many conversations. Now to the point. Many still fear that (because of history) sh** is going to happen this year and we will fall flat. Everyone has to get that thought or fear out of their ever loving minds. Husker basketball will be good this year, and the program culture is set to extend the quality of basketball for years to come. Our mindset must be...this year is going to find great success. We have on many occasions, had one or two good players on a team and met some success, but things are now different. I have always said; for a team to be a great team, you need three significant players and then a bunch of good role players. This team has that. We are also recruiting with an eye towards that formula for future teams. In years past, I had rose colored glasses on with the hope that we were going to be successful. Not this year! I know we are going to be good. I know we will be a top tier team. I know we will make the dance, and I know we will win games in the tournament. My expectations are set. I expect to win each and every game, and I will be disappointed with any loss. ANY LOSS. Have at it!

I think what you're trying to say is Creighton them. Creighton: To pay off, bribe, or give employment or a combination of such so a student athlete will play for you. Also see Arizona, Washington, NC State, Louisville, etc...

I think Anton, Evan, and Jordy will be missed more than we think, hence I wouldn’t have them ranked preseason either

Put Duke, UNC, Kentucky et al on the front of the shirt and you'd say it's probably the least talented Duke (UNC, Kentucky etc) team in the last 50 years. It's just the reality of the thing We went from bad to mediocre during the course of last season. That doesn't equate to an offseason jump to elite level just because we're bringing so much back. We'll be starting off at slightly above mediocre. There's still plenty of work for these guys to do.

I know we went 2 and BBQ in the post season, but I still think we would have gotten the monkey off of our back last year had we been in the Dance. Oh well-- this year we can all have Sweet 16 BBQ's in mid-march. (Either that or we'll be shoveling snow at halftime)

Why is MJ standing so far away from the rest of his team?

You get the opportunity to practice situational ball. My understanding is that it is more akin to a practice/scrimmage than a game. Winning/losing is less important than improving by/through playing comparable competition.
