Played pick-up basketball for over two hours tonight with Palmer, Thomas Allen, Nana, Amir Harris, Tanner Borchardt, Brady Heimann, and Costello.. Here are my thoughts in case you're as ready for the season to start as i am... 1) Palmer is best player i've ever played with. He was guarded by Nana and Amir mostly the whole time and he does not miss from 25+ feet, even contested. Not kidding he probably shot 75% from three shooting a lot for more than two hours, it was insane. 2) Amir Harris is the real deal, he will be a solid backup PG for us this year and is every single bit of 6'5. I don't feel like his handles are as recognized as they should be by the media, fans, etc. this dude had the best handles of anyone there and can finish around the rim. 3) Thomas Allen has the shot to be our starting two guard for sure, and I'm not just talking spot up threes.. Shooting off the dribble using his quickness and handles, and shooting going left or right. He was the second best player there behind Palmer. 4) Nana is just a gym rat, and I'm really rooting for him to finish his game at the college level. You can tell he wants to be a spot up shooter and he is a freak athlete, but he was the last one to leave even after all the other players left and he was just playing with our motley crew.

Jordy left later in the calendar than AWIII did. The funny thing though is generally speaking people are less upset because AWIII was a much better basketball player than Jordy.

Has anybody ever told you that you look a lot like Tai? But a lot more jacked, of course. What's your eligibility status?

The WR coach [Smith] I believe has been a jackwagon! If you remember, he is the coach that started a twitter war with Coach Williams. If Urban hid the truth, OSU will be in a very uninviable position. Will Ohio State really do the right thing and fire their golden cow?

Dayton doesn't have anyone over 6'7" on the roster so a great place to package a couple of post players

Good stuff Noah. So do you still have eligibility? My take is that we have a solid first four, and we all know who they are. The next four will vie for the final starting position (and that player will need to compliment the top four) and the three main subs. My current guess is that Thomas earns the last starting job and Amir and Tanner will earn time. Will Nana earn that third spot? If not, which player will step up?

I caught up with Donovan down in Lawrence on Sunday. Sounds like he really likes Nebraska.

Think about that simple phrase: "Nebraska's going to be a fantastic basketball team." Let it swirl around for a moment. Whether it comes to pass, we at least have this moment.

Never too early to start looking into Sweet 16 venues ?

I have to say I really like our recruiting class. From what little I've seen, I think Davis is a player. Assuming he's healthy, I semi-agree with what you have to say about him getting minutes. Not yet ready to elevate him over Thor and Nana, but he's good enough to give them both a run, and maybe he does overtake them both for minutes. He's one of those guys who just has that touch thing. Seems like he can throw the ball in the direction of the rim and it just goes in. He's extremely quick getting shots off in catch-and-shoot situations. And he seems to have a little James Palmer on the drive in him. I also agree that, from what I've seen, Thor takes the last spot in the rotation over Nana. Thor is just savvy. Seems to have really high hoops IQ and just sort of intuitively knows what to do. He's kind of inventive. I think he's going to be fun to watch.
