I actually can't stand watching the NBA. So much so that I don't even watch the finals. I think the game they play is boring. I also grew up in small town Nebraska where defense was more important than offense. That's probably why I have loved the Huskers all these years. ? The college game is uglier, but it is better in my opinion. I actually would watch most all professional sports, including soccer, over the NBA. As you said... to each his own. At least we all love Nebrasketball

He's smart in the sense that it was the fastest way to titles, financially he was going to get a max deal wherever he went. But I don't think it was a smart move for his legacy. Golden State had proven they were the best team in the NBA prior to his arrival. Kind of like how we don't think of Larry Coker as the best coach of all time, even though he coached one of the best teams of all time. 2001 Miami football was on a title path with or without Larry Coker - 2018 GSW were on a title path with or without KD.

Compare that to Minnesota who had 20 guys on their roster from the state of Minnesota. It's amazing what that program was able to do with so many local players this season.

  15. The two problems you would hit is that I think this will be the Friday before Christmas and the tickets need to be secured because this will easily sell out. If someone is a bus owner, either short or long, hit me up.

I counted at least 7 players who played high school baseball in the state of Nebraska that were drafted out of college last week - 4 in the top 11 rounds - and 0 of them played at NU this past year. (Chandler was here and did nothing in 2 years before transferring and becoming a 6th rounder in one year.) NU had 12 in-state players on its roster in 2018, 8 of whom were draft eligible, and 0 were drafted. I can't see any of the other 4 ever becoming draft picks. There's your talent gap. I get that not every Nebraska-born kid wants to play at NU. But if you get

On a lighter and more positive note, I renewed my season tickets yesterday, and could give a fat frog's a** where LeBron ends up (as long as it's not the Lakers) .

I agree, I don't think Warriors are better without Durant(assuming they don't have other people with that massive amount of money, which they obviously would)

Series is tied 2-2 if KD isnt a Warrior, in my hypothetical opinion.

I gave aphilso and Huskerpapa up arrows because I also respect the skills of players in the NBA ( James and Durant are two of the best I have ever seen and good guys to boot) but find the NBA teams to be incredibly boring to watch. Get a matchup, drive , take three steps, get fouled and perhaps have it called, kick out and shoot a three (usually made), then go to the other end and see the same thing. Anyone who watched Cousey, Russell, Magic, Bird, etc. perform can appreciate the dramatic flair which has left the NBA building.

So, hot take from a guy who was a casual NBA fan and is getting closer to just not caring at all anymore: The Warriors are ruining the league. It's not entirely their fault, but as a generality I blame them for why me and lots of people like me are walking away from the NBA. 1. They've worn out their welcome. Most casual fans only find dynasties interesting when it's a Goliath (Lakers, Yankees, Alabama, Barcelona soccer, etc) that can be toppled by either a) David or b) another Goliath. It's not their fault that they're a small-ish market team with no history, but I know a

14th round is pretty good money. One failure of the staff this past season was not using the gift they received when Luis decided to come back. Why did they not use him like Meyers. Play him in the field Friday and Saturday, then start him Sunday? This recruiting class, the staff seemed to get the in state talent to stay. According to baseball America, the top 2 high school seniors are set to go to Nebraska. Including Colby Gomes, the 161st best prospect by mlb.com.

  25. In 2006, with what should have been a pretty good roster with some solid returnees and a decent recruiting class, the top returning player showed up 30 pounds overweight after an offseason regimen of doobies and Big Macs. The program was adrift. No one was in charge.

  26. I attended DONU for the last couple Collier years and first couple Sadler years. At the time, I liked Barry. His teams seemed to play their most competitive basketball in home games against big teams. It was a lot of fun to be in the student section for those contests. I also liked his interaction with the students. He used to come talk to us before the games and buy us a bunch of pizzas as we watched team warm-ups. With a decade+ of hindsight though, I wish the University had moved on from Barry quicker. He walked into a great situation, inheriting a program with excellent t
