Ed Chang -> San Diego St

Anyone else find it kinda funny that San Diego State may pull what were once two of the most promising players from the state in Arop and Chang? Nebraska isn't the San Diego of the B1G so much as San Diego State is the Nebraska of the Mountain West.

If he can combine a Fosbury Flop with a dunk it will be most impressive indeed.

Good enough to impress us with his athleticism, but not so good that we worry about him switching to the track team.

    Morrow leaving

Yes, can't even imagine how much better we'd be with Morrow...assuming he stayed healthy which is a BIG "if". A big time piece we missed last year and most likely will miss again baring some unforeseen addition. Some of those games his sophomore year before his foot went bad again were incredible. I recall him just willing us to victory in @Indiana and looking like an absolute stud in November/December. He really looked like a potential all-conference type player at his best, and at his worst was still a solid starter. He had his holes for sure, but was trending up. Both he and MJ will assuredly be much improved after a year off to develop their games. I don't have any regrets with MJ leaving...not a high ceiling player who really didn't do much of anything all that well. Seemed to just be a starter by default. And no matter what Boyd's testing system said, he was a sub-par game athlete who literally was what, 25% on converting dunks in his career? Ed on the other hand - man what could have been...IF healthy.

We were literally the worst rebounding team in the league the second MJ and Ed transferred. I will never understand how so many fans continue to say they weren't missed. why should he have been a four? i may not know what im talking about, but I never saw ed flash any legit offensive skills. He had an average face up game, to me that was it. Obviously his contributions on defense were a lot more evident. But when someone is so raw offensively, it only makes sense you want to hide them under the basket. Ed's problem is that he's closer to a small forward than a center in terms of size - even for the modern college game. He reminds me of Cliff Alexander of KU from a few years ago. Very strong, athletic big man who is giving up 2-3+ inches at the position that most matches their skillset. I will be interested to see his game at Marquette.

He should've been a 4 the entire time he was here, and he would've been a great one. I thought he was justified in leaving and I still wish we had him. MJ? Meh.

Why not a H-H with Mizzou or KState or ISU? Why does it need to be a neutral site game? Bring them to PBA!

I definitely don't think our issues stem from it being a Nebraska problem. Many were concerned with Erstad having zero recruiting connections when hired and I think that has come to rear its ugly head. To top it off, Erstad has zero experience in managing a program. While he was a great ballplayer and a year removed from the majors Erstad said so himself...he would need to surround himself with great recruiters and unfortunately the main guy he hired and has leaned on (Silva) has turned out to be a dud. It looked like a great hire initially but it has not panned out and it sounds as if Silva has rubbed quite a few people the wrong way. I think Nebraska still has everything in place to be the premier baseball program in the Midwest. Whether Moos cares enough remains to be seen. I've said it before, but the guy who should have had the job is currently recognized as one of the best recruiters in the nation and moving right along with A&M. I think he would still be VERY interested in this job if it were to come open. Osborne hired Erstad knowing that he would likely be a lifer and would not leave the program for greener pastures. That's nice if its working out...but, it hasn't worked out in the first seven years. In the end, we probably have to hope Erstad has some sort of itch to get back to the majors or Erstad quickly figures out how to replenish the program with talent.

I’d like to see the type of canidate we could pull if we actually did a national search. I think people would be shocked at the type of coach we could get here, given the effort. Lemonis to Indiana, Was to Purdue, Heller to Iowa - we have more to offer than any of those programs and they all made very impressive hires.

    Amir Harris is N

I agree with the notion that this kid gets on the court because of his defense. At 6'5" and great leaping ability and speed, he's one who can truly help us switch on everything on the perimeter and continue to guard the 3 well. Though not necessarily orthodox, he's a true pass first PG. He's a really, really good pickup.

Ed Chang -> San Diego St

Yes, but is he a perfect fit for the system they run?

Isaac Copeland, Aleks Maric, Kimani Ffriend, Venson Hamilton, Derrick Chandler, Carl Hayes, Tony Farmer, Rich King, Dave Hoppen, Chuck Jura, Bus Whitehead. Those are the only 11 players at Nebraska, listed at 6'9" or taller, that have averaged more than 12 points a game for a season. Other than when Danny Nee was here, we see about one a decade. There is a lot riding on Copeland's decision, as obviously he would not be easy to replace.
