She is really talented as are the other kids coming in. We have a few areas to fill in and replace but we will be way way more talented overall for sure and have a chance to be very very good if the kids keep working hard

Baseball is such a funny sport because it’s a lot easier to snowball than most all other sports. Confidence is a huge thing in baseball. When you lose confidence in a sport where you already fail 7 to 8 out of 10 times, snowballs happen on both offense and defense. I’m in no way happy with how this season is going. If there’s one (men’s) sport where we should always finish near the top, it’s baseball. However, I don’t think our talent level is as bad as many think this year. We are in serious snowball mode. The loss of three really good pitchers hurts as well. Like I said I don’t think there is a huge talent disparity. To me, it’s more of a confidence issue. We have “dudes.” We just need to start playing better. In no way do I want this taken as an excuse, but more of an observation.

Couldn't think of any place to put it but I just noticed that the Frozen Four this year consisted of 3 of 4 Big Ten teams. Sure, I don't feel good about including Notre Dame in there either. Nonetheless. Moral of the story is that I'd be happy to see Nebraska move up from a club league and start playing in the big leagues.

The season ending banquet was nicely done as always. The food was good and so was the program. Coach does a great job as well as all those behind the scenes that put it together. Good booster turnout. Gbr

Not the best audience for those, true. But half of those were seriously entertained by the last working band I was in in the mid 80s. I really, really wanted "HaHa Death Camp". We wound up being Sid and the Four Skins...heh heh. And lasted for about 5 gigs.

Down 15-4 vs 7-19 Mich St team. 4 errors. Truely an embarrassing display of baseball. Almost have to feel bad for Erstad now as he appears to be out of answers and doesn’t know what buttons to push. It’s going to be tough sledding if we lose this series if we want to make the Big Ten tournament. That’s just sad to say.

The New Puritans. Ugh. When he was 16, Zach apparently had sex with a 15-year-old. News reports out today indicate that he's being charged with 2 felonies, including possession of a sexually explicit image of someone his age (under 18) and inducing a 15-year-old to perform a lude act. If convicted, he stands to face whatever prison time plus potentially a lifetime on the sex offender registry. Ridiculous.
