From what I have seen of the league this year I think our team has a legitimate chance to finish in the top four. That's not saying we will, but even the biggest pessimist has to agree we should not finish in the bottom four.

Apparently so! The refs were bad in an equal opportunity kind of way today. Very inconsistent from one end to the other. That bald-headed dork must be named Eades. He always sucks as bad as the other 'Eades' brothers. T call on Copeland was BS - much worse happens all the time and no call is made.

Yeah, we didn't come close to even tying this one up, but I'm proud about this team. We lose this one by 30 points on some of our other squads.

The Cats also have hit 72.2 percent of their free throws. They own a plus-3.0 rebound margin, but a minus-3.5 turnover margin, while holding opponents to 63.4 points per game. Nebraska vs. Northwestern Series History • Nebraska leads the all-time series with Northwestern, 8-6, but the Wildcats won the last meeting between the two teams 62-58 at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln on Dec. 28, 2016. • Northwestern has won three consecutive games against Nebraska in Evanston, Ill., including an 85-62 win at Welsh-Ryan Arena on Jan. 3, 2016. NCAA Division I Most Improved Teams Calling Big Ten Home Nebraska is putting together one of the nation’s top turnarounds under second-year Coach Amy Williams. The Huskers are already plus-three in the win column heading into Sunday’s game at Northwestern. The only team in the country that has seen a greater increase in the win column through games Jan. 3 is fellow Big Ten Conference school Rutgers (+9). The Huskers also own wins over two of the nation’s other most improved teams, at Kansas (66-49, Dec. 6) and Florida Atlantic (86-69, Dec. 19). Both the Jayhawks and Owls have won two more games than their final record a year ago. Nebraska and Rutgers have shown the most improvement on the road this season. Husker Road Warriors Nebraska heads to Northwestern with a five-game winning streak away from Pinnacle Bank Arena. She has 14 games with two or more blocks, including 11 straight games. • Hannah Whitish has posted at least one assist in 17 consecutive games, and has three or more assists in 14 games this season, including 11 straight. • Whitish has knocked down a three-pointer in 12 consecutive games. • Taylor Kissinger has knocked down at least one three-pointer in eight consecutive games. • Kissinger has at least three rebounds in each of her nine games this season. • The Huskers have knocked down at least one three-pointer in 295 straight regular-season games dating back to a loss at UTEP on Dec. 20, 2008. • Nebraska has hit at least two three-pointers in 174 consecutive games.

Ever since the MSU game, we have played pretty well defensively. We are allowing 71.1 PPG. The teams we have played during that stretch have avg. 80.2 PPG during the season. Keep playing defense, and we should be able to take care of enough on offense to win a good majority of games. We already played 2 of the toughest defenses in the Big 10 (MSU and PU)

It’s conference play, it’s going to be tough to win on the road. Physical play on defense is going to ramp up. You have to play through it. Look what West Virginia did to the OU kid tonight, he probably has bruises on his arms. The officiating didn’t cost us this game. Purdue had something to say about the outcome. No game is going to be easy for this team, they have to be ready for an improving Wisconsin. How are we going to stop Happ?

Didn’t know there was such a thing as a “look” foul. I’ve heard of “touch” fouls. But a “look” foul has got to be something new.

All in all, after 4 conference games, against what many considered to be the top 4 teams at the start of the year (I realize NW hasn't held up their end in that prognostication and McIntosh being injured didn't hurt), I feel pretty good about where we are.

Watch Haas when he goes back to the bench, he's like, "I don't know man, not sure what the T was for. He didn't say nothing." ...at least that's my interpretation of it.

He and Glynn didn't fare well doing that today. And a few times in the 2nd half I think Glynn aborted a drive to the hoop because he saw Haas waiting. Maybe instead of going all the way in and getting it blocked, pull up for a little 8 footer. Then again, I'm just an armchair coach.

Is it just me, or does Haas look like 'Jaws?'

We're playing two extra conference games. If you include the Rutgers games as non-cons, we're looking at the low 200s which is approximately what we had making the tournament in 2014. I suspect our overall will be in the 30s, maybe a little lower. This isn't the same as RPI though which the committee will continue to use until they don't.
