  1. People need to get over this. White didn't do anything wrong. If he thinks going to syracuse was the best move for his pro career, then i have no problem with it. He didn't break any rules. Yes, it sucks he bailed on us after we gave him a ton of minutes, but who are we to say what's best for white's career?

  2. I probably know as much or more about what "went down" than you do. And I don't buy the notion that we'd be a better team automatically with him. It's possible but team chemistry is a huge part of team sport success. And with Andrew on the team, not sure we'd have the team chemistry I see with this team so far.

  3. People don't know what went down? Feel free to share. I do know he told the staff he was coming back for sure, and then they had no contact with the family for months. The staff called around and found that AW2 had been contacting other schools for a while. When he finally did get back to the staff, White's dad's rationalization via text was, "this is my retirement plan." The whole ordeal made the team closer. I'd rather have him on the team this year than at Syracuse, but what were they going to do? I'm sure Andrew has his side of the story, but daddy was looking out for his retirement plan, and apparently it was in better hands at Syracuse. As for Pitchford, he liked to spend a lot more time drinking downtown than doing anything remotely related to basketball. His dedication wasn't there in 2014-2015, and his poor play and lack of dedication angered his teammates, Petteway in particular. Am I missing something?

  4. On the Haymarket Hardwood side of the forum they have the Runza Challenge. So in order to "keep up with the jones" so to speak, we're giving the women the Raising Cane"s Challenge. We'll keep the winners updated as they occur. Emily Wood - 1 Maddie Simon - 1 Jessica Shepard - 2 Hannah Whitish - 1

  5. Well, it's one game. Can't put too much importance on any one game, with regards to a season or program barometer. If, say, we lost to Cretin and then went on to go 12-6, or even 10-8 in conference, I'm good with the state of the program. We're young, and the future looks bright.

  7. Nebraska Cornhuskers (2-0) vs Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (1-1) The 1996 NIT championship team will be honored Date: Saturday, Nov. 19Time: 7:01 p.m. Arena: Pinnacle Bank Arena Broadcast: None Web: ESPN3/WatchESPN Louisiana Tech Info Head Coach: Eric KonkolLocation: Ruston, LAConference: C-USANickname: BulldogsMascots: Champ (Human dressed as a Bulldog) and Tech (Actual Bulldog)Last time out: Beat Alabama StTypical Rotation Depth: 9 deepLine: Nebraska by 74 Factors: Aggressively getting to the FT line and causing turnoversTempo: Baseline to baseline Style: Fast and aggressive, will press and generate steals Shirt not to wear: Blue, How do I know these guys: This is that team that had Troy Edwards in 1998 as he toasted the Nebraska's secondary to the tune of 405 yards on 21 catches. The Huskers went on to win that game 56-27. We also beat them, once again in football, in 2006. Miles Presser Morrow Presser Player to watch: 6'8" 225# Eric McCree (SR) Named as a member of the pre-season C-USA all-conference second team after racking up 8 double-doubles and ten 20+ point games. Shoots from anywhere on the court, gets to the FT line, rebounds well. Player to watch: 6'9" 255# Omar Sherman (JR) Tech runs a small athletic squad but the one exception is Sherman who transferred along with Konkol from Miami. His backup is 7'0" 205# beanpole Joniah White The Skinny: Welcome to the tune-up game for the Thanksgiving tournament to a team that the Huskers know not to overlook in Louisiana Tech. Former coach Michael White put together this high speed Tech team, parlaying three straight 27+ win seasons into the Florida gig. Jim Larranaga assistant (both at George Mason and Miami) Eric Konkol took over last year and thus far has continued the running and the winning. (Trivia alert: Konkol played for Bo Ryan's University of Wisconsin at Platteville team in 1995) You might have noticed me using the word "aggressive" a few time already as that is the Bulldog game plan. On offense they'll aggressively shoot when open and impatiently drive towards the basket to the point they went to the FT line 30 times vs. South Carolina. Defensively they generated 14 turnovers on an impressive 11 steals vs the Gamecocks. The name of the game for this younger Nebraska team will be composure. While Tech will swing momentum at times by generating easy baskets on turnovers there should be the inevitable dry spells that come with the territory of a so-so shooting team. If the Huskers can weather the storm, there will be plenty of easy baskets to be had. Take that philosophy to the defensive side where not fouling will force the Bulldogs to run an offense and the Huskers win this running away. I don't think Nebraska is quite into running away with games just yet and suspect they might slow this one down a bit to mess with Tech's rythym. Prediction: Nebraska 74 - Louisiana Tech 66 View full article

    Rotation

A pretty solid suspicion. It probably also applies to one on one shots out of the offense. In the first half the other night, Horne tried a dribbling, spinning baseline shot from about 10 feet, and was quickly informed that if he did that again, he would be sitting next to coach.

    Rotation

So that means the guys with shading have the green light from outside? (rim shot!) Nothing more than a suspicion, but I'd guess Miles has told the newcomers to prove they can play defense and rebound before they start jacking up 3s.

  17. I know some message boards have the ability for administrators to filter words and replace them with funnier ones. I'm not sure if it's possible with the program used here, but I'd be down with filtering "Creighton" to "Roast Beef Sandwiches" or "Sweater Vests" or "Drunks in the Hallway"...something like that. I'd spend more time in threads about Creighton, that's for sure.

    What Could Have Been

The only thing I saw scouts say made AW3 not NBA ready was his defensive game, so naturally he went to a school that runs a 2-3 and left behind a staff that prides itself in defensive toughness. His loss, some DLeague or Overseas Team's gain. Let's not split hairs over him anymore.

  22. We would be a better team and program with Andrew White in it as opposed to playing for Syracuse. Thats a fact. All the people bagging on him don't really know what went down. Same thing with Pitchford.
