Nebraska among 8 teams chosen to participate in the 2017 Advocare Invitational

They have to sell five 24-day challenges and get three friends to agree to sell before they're fully in.2 points -
Recruiting high-caliber players is most-definitely "results" . . . but I know you mean win-loss results. Nonetheless, I've seen great progress for Nebrasketball under the current regime. Whoever wants to wallow in dread and gloom -- have at it. After all, that's the natural state of an anonymous board like this. But I have been . . . and am going to continue . . . enjoying the ride on the upward trajectory that is Nebrasketball..2 points

Yep....you can sell vision in the first couple of years....when you get to year 5...you need some substance I agree here. It's time to win. We have substance with these last 2 classes but you need to show progress on the court in order to show some of these recruits that we are indeed going somewhere and that its okay to join the team. Problem is, the pieces we have may just be set up to win, but not quite ready to do it at a high success rate. Hopefully we see significant progress this year but there's many who act like Miles is at the end of his leash and that this season has to be it. The majority of the pieces in place are either sophomores or freshman. It's mostly on the other site, but many seem to be fed up with Miles and think that our recruiting is a joke. I happen to think that he's doing just fine and that this staff is identifying talent well and loading the roster about as best as can be hoped for. I don't see any shame in losing out on a recruit when they have 18-20 offers including UNC and Georgetown type teams. I guess we could go back to having our best recruits be Ryan Anderson/Brandon Richardson type guys but I don't really see the point. Patiently waiting some on-court success but willing to be patient.2 points

2017 PG Tyler Maye -> VCU

Actually, it seems to be the 2nd lowest class. He was at a small private school in a large town his first 2 years and transferred back to his hometown last year where he led the team to a state championship where they didn't lose a game. Currently people project him as a mid-major guard. Seems like he can shoot, can score, can defend. Possibly high IQ guy that can ball. Probably not a super athletic kid and probably would need to put on some weight. Possible that the smaller HS and AAU teams he plays for could be a factor on why he's not on anyone's radar. Is it? It was hard to tell on the classification page. It certainly is. I basically had to look at school enrollment numbers from a 2004 PDF to figure it out. It's possible they flipped them in the last decade but unlikely. Also, Farmville has a population of just 4,753 in addition to being called Farmville. And, here, I thought Farmville only existed on Facebook...1 point -

I don't think that's an apt comparison here as BP couldn't shoot and TM is on the right side of 6'. I'm thinking something more like Tarin Smith though it's really hard to figure out as I don't know much about this kid.1 point -

Countdown to College Hoops

He can definitely play the 3 offensively. I'm not sure Horne can guard the 3 though. If he gets in great shape I think he'd be a very good 3 with his footwork and shooting ability. The kid is a scorer.1 point -

From Robin: "Freshman Jeriah Horne . . . spent most of the day working with the guards . . . he does have a nice perimeter shot and is deceptively explosive driving to the basket."1 point -

The bolded portion to me is the absolute indication of just how ignorant those people tend to be. Those other sites are disgusting. It's no wonder fans of other teams bag on Husker fans for being ignorant about hoops. But yeah, it's getting down to nut cuttin' time for sure. We've got enough talent to win, question is are they mature enough as mostly Freshmen and Sophomores to get it done?1 point

You are definitely right about that McPipe line we had, Jimmy. You can Banks on that!1 point -
Hopefully Michael Lewis can reestablish an Indiana connection with NU. Back in the day Nebraska had a (Mc)Pipe line to the Hoosier state.1 point
