  1. Fixed your post for you. Look, cut the sour grapes crap, it makes the rest of us look bad. When a team whips you, it's always best to man up and admit it. Not whine about playing the starters too much. Used to hear the same crap when we'd kick Big 8 teams like K-State's ass in football back in the day. Let's keep our mouth shut until we get another crack at the....and beat them!!! Then, let's start talking. He isn't saying we didn't get our butts kicked. He is saying sans the first 15 minutes of the game..we beat them. Our starters beat theirs. No sour grapes... Your comment was off. Who won the game and by how many? Bradley Bradley Bradley.... You sound like you may have one or two sweater vests in your closet. I don't care who won. Go back to the thread the day of the game. Everything will be explained there. My only pint is that if we want to be big boys, we accept our successes and failures. That game in Omaha was an utter embarassment, to spin it any other way, or look for Norm's silver linings is small time and not what we need to be about anymore. Those days should be over. If they dress as Wisconsin fans in a bar, then it's ok to punch them? A guy who wants to make Nebraska fans look like rednecks who pick fights in bars while then advocating that we lick the toes of Creighton fans? How many accounts have you had banned on here now? Seriously...go wank it somewhere else besides this board. You list your location as Lincoln. Every post has been made from Omaha. You are such a loser.

    Five and Six Seeds

I know the NCAA committee says it doesn't look for interesting matchups, it's always just a coincidence when it happens. But is it possible they go out of their way to match us with a Big XII team? The reason I ask is each of the past 2 seasons, didn't Nebraska's women get matched with Big XII teams, Kansas in the first round two years ago and they played in Texas A&M's regional last year right? Met the Aggies in the 2nd round I believe. So maybe Texas, Baylor, or Oklahoma would be around the 6-7 seed line to perhaps match with NU as a 10-11 seed? Just a thought for those of us who believe in conspiracy theories.

  10. I think they did us a favor popping us into a high 11 seed and sticking us in San Antonio, where there are a lot of Husker ex-pats. Let's hope that city's as good to us in hoops as it is in football. Man, it's been too long.

  11. I have no complaints on the draw. Baylor has been jekel & hyde this year. Sure San Antonio is only 2 hrs from Waco, but there's a lot of Husker alumni in Texas. Hope they turn out in full force to offset the home court advantage for Baylor. The 2 big guys will make it difficult for us to do what we like (drive to the bucket) but hopefully we can get them in foul trouble & hit some jumpers against that zone. Glad to be in & not in the play in game. All the other 6 & 7 seeds have their disadvantages, but for us to make a sweet 16 run this draw is perfect as we could have a very familiar opponent in round 2 (one that we have something to prove against).

That game in Omaha was an utter embarassment, to spin it any other way, or look for Norm's silver linings is small time and not what we need to be about anymore. Those days should be over. First off, my advice to you would be to rack up a few more than 13 posts on this board, in order to gain credibility, before calling out someone like Norm. He has earned his stripes and credibility on this board. As far as the Nebraska at Creighton game... I think it's pretty obvious that Nebraska isn't even the same team they were at that point of the season. These guys hadn't played many games together and were learning their roles. Im pretty sure that was Nebraska's first true road game. Nebraska ran into a buzzsaw at Creighton as they shot out of their minds in that game. They exploded from the opening tip and couldn't miss a shot. Nebraska is playing a completely different level of basketball right now. And Creighton isn't playing as well either. The only player on Creighton's team that is playing at that elite level is McDermott. Wragge isn't shooting out of his mind, which makes them more 1-dimensional. I would feel very confident in Nebraska if there was a rematch in the NCAA Tourney.

Gotta admit, it's fun to see Dougie McBuckets shoot the ball; other than that, I'm totally okay with Creighton blowing a gasket in their "greatest" moment. It should be noted that Providence came to play tonight, and deserved the victory!

  28. I typically don't comment on Creighton topics, but Grant Gibbs is just awful. Dirty plays non-stop. I love it when Creighton fans call into the local radio programs and say, "everyone hates to play against him, but everyone wants a player like Grant Gibbs on their team". Umm...no. I like a player with passion and effort, but I'll pass on a dirty player who doesn't play the game the right way. The guy committed to Gonzaga in the summer of 2007....it's 2014. He's a grown man out there taking shots at 18-21 year old boys. Sorry for the rant, but my eyes just roll anytime I see him play or his name mentioned.

If he transfers to another school in the same conference he would lose a year of eligibility, so I doubt Nebraska would be an option.

  34. I also agree that they've done their homework and feel very confident that they're in, hence the watch party. But even if they aren't, this is a great chance to celebrate a terrific season and thank the players and coaches for what they accomplished. Six weeks ago it was tough to imagine us even getting an NIT home game, let alone being able to have an NCAA watch party. Now that doesn't mean we won't be upset if we're somehow left out of the NCAAs, but I hope people don't stay away just because of that small chance. The players deserve a huge crowd there to celebrate the (likely) NCAA bid and the season as a whole. It's been a while, so I'm not sure of protocol for this type of thing, but do we rush the floor when we appear on the bracket? Or do we have to wait until the full field is announced?

  39. CBS and USA Today have Nebraska safely in the round of 64. ESPN says Lunardi "correctly picks the field" when it comes to being in or out, which is true, but his track record when correctly picking seeds is less than stellar.

  40. Our press break was, honestly pitiful. The little ring around the rosy we would do before cutting was obviously not working on Craft and Della Vagina (I think that's how you spell it...). Would have liked to see us maybe try something different.....like at all. A simple 4 across would have worked. Really unless Leslie was in, any of our players can reasonably handle the ball for a short period of time, so bringing the all up to help break the press makes sense. Also could have opened up the deep ball. Plus, setting a few screens may have helped instead of just trying to out run Aaron Craft, which is probably a poor choice...

  41. There's no guarantee the "play in" games will be 11 & 12 seeds is there? Isn't the "play in" seeding determined when they actually seed the entire field & where the last "at larges" end up in the overall seeding (including the conference champions). I think the projected brackets just arbitrarialy use 11 & 12 seeds. The last at larges could be any seed. It just depends on how many of those "mid major" champions are seeded higher than the last at larges overall. Right??

  42. Sorry, ladies and gents, it's my fault: I knew that Ohio State would get the benefit of the calls w/ the refereeing we had today. It's too bad that it had to be that way, but Aaron Craft & the Bucks are able to clutch, grab & hold while Terran Petteway & the Huskers seemed to touch the lil' buckeroos & it's a 'foul'. Even Dan Dakich commented on it in the 1st half... knew it would be a long day!! Despite that, the real problem I had was Nebraska's response to full-court pressure. It was horrendous. The key turning point in the game was when Pitchford tried the reverse dunk from the alley-oop w/ NU up 58-49... didn't go down. In fact, it caromed quite a ways away & OSU got a transition bucket and-1. Suddenly, it 58-52 and the Buckeye crowd got revved and Aaron Craft pestered our guards more & more. That was the key possession in my eyes. Anyways, it's just one game but it sucks to fall apart like that when NU had that 48-30 lead & OSU was reeling. Matta knows what the hell he's doing & he challenged his team to "compete" and that is exactly what they did. Nebraska will learn & grow, but it's still a painful lesson to be taught by the aggressor today.
