Screw Trev

Without looking it up, I can't tell you the new athletic director's name. To me, that's a good thing. Do great things behind the scenes, don't mess with the good, quietly fix the not so good, wash, rinse and repeat. That was never going to happen with Trev. Not necessarily his fault. He was always going to be in the spotlight, whether he wanted it or not. I like our trajectory right now. Sometimes trades work out for both teams.2 points -

Regardless of all that, the CWS was a lot of fun to watch this year.2 points -

Or congrats to A&M for being the National Champion Runner up. Great series to watch and they played some outstanding baseball. Maybe it's time for NU fans to quit being so bitter and not make everything so personal. Trev made a business decision to take a different job. It happens. Congrats to Trev and Texas A&M for a great championship series and congrats to the Vols for a tremendous season and your National Championship. Well deserved...2 points

Just got my email notification today. Can’t remember what I paid last year but seems pretty similar1 point -
My stance is college players shouldn't be getting paid as they are already getting paid with free education, meals, clothes, etc. However, now that they can get paid, it's hard to blame them leaving to make more money. I have said that now college kids are getting paid, it has ruined college sports like we know it. There is no difference between college and pro now. It has completed changed the landscape in college sports for how you recruit now. You don't sell them on your school but rather what kind of NIL deal you can put together for them. Things change and even if I prefer the days before NIL, just have to adapt to the way it is now cause it ain't going to go back. I would agree with you that fans had higher expectations for Trev and his tenure here at Nebraska. I was one of them but I'm just not someone who needs to take cheap shots at him for leaving if he felt like that was a better opportunity for him. It obviously had to be a hard decision to leave the school he played his college days at so there had to be strong reasons for him to walk. I may not have liked it either but I try to be objective and understand his side as well.1 point

Isn't your stance on players getting paid and bouncing from school to school for better paychecks almost the opposite of this? I think as a former Husker, fans had higher expectations for how his tenure would go than it did. Less than three years here, leaving with a giant stadium project falling apart and friction created between the athletic department and just about every relevant body tangential to it.1 point

It seems that Trev is good at managing coaches: e.g., he hired Rhule and didn't fire Hoiberg, and all NU sports teams seemed to improve under his leadership. But the business and change-management parts of the job are huge these days: and whether he is up to handling those parts remains to be seen. At Nebraska: Trev was highly visible (as compared to Troy Dannen, who isn't)--whether that is a good thing or bad (or if they even let him do that) remains to be seen at Texas A&M; Trev's stadium expansion initiative will move forward at Nebraska--in a modified form--but it had some questionable elements, including the total cost and whether Husker Nation would get behind it; Trev had some odd views on NIL, which seems bizarre in this NIL-crucial environment; and Trev seems to want a large role in the rapidly-changing college sports world, but in his highly-visible role at Nebraska, he created more of an "Aw-Shucks" image than one of high-competence in that area of responsibility.1 point

Was chatting up some A&M fans Saturday night after they won the first game of three. Were nice enough guys, but I jokingly brought up the Trev thing and one of the dudes pulled a complete 180. "All you Nebraska fans do is b*tch about Trev. He saw a hotter girl with more cash and moved on from his raggedy, old gf. It's pretty simple." All I could say was take it easy man...1 point -

I wasnt going to reply because all my favorite/least favorite moments are pretty much all mentioned already. But after rewatching highlights from that @Illinois game..............obviously the foul on cj wilcher at the end of regulation was quite awful. but the real kick in the you know what comes at 9 seconds left in overtime. Am i crazy or was that 100 percent a foul on TSJ?!! Dude got all of Reinks arm. Probably not the worst part of the season but that was bad (especially when winning that wouldve gave us the 2 seed in the BTT). On the other hand, other than that game and a couple other ones listed above this was without a doubt the best season I've had the privilege to watch and I cant contain my excitement for next season. Oh and by the way my absolute favorite part of the season was Juwan Gary going completely insane and hauling in 18 boards in that KSU game. GBR fellas1 point -
