  2. Southwest Baptist has been added to the non-conference schedule as an exhibition game on Sunday, Nov. 6th. Was actually hoping this would happen to help get the Huskers somewhat accustomed to some sort of game time experience in the new system before being thrown into the fire of WNIT pre-season tourney.

NAIA is super weird and scholarship distribution in football is kinda of like distribution in college baseball cut throat as hell. I remember one year a kid got a full scholarship was supposed be the next big thing, coach gave him Money over three juniors that had been contributing and asking for a little help to offset tuition and a meal plan. When the kid turned out to be a wet turd couldn't block or pick up the schemes it got pretty ugly with parents and boosters

So the appeal to the Committee on Student-athlete Reinstatement is... "Oh, come on! Her dad is a former NBA player. Who wouldn't cheat, I mean, kill to have him?"

  5. Hell, forget the grad transfer rule; college athletics in general (at least the money sports) is about athletic improvement more so than it is about education. Who's this guy trying to fool? I still think there should be a sports major (classes on dealing with the press, public speaking, money management, running local programs/leagues etc). Let these kids major in what they're interested in. It'd be like a theater major.

  6. A couple of years ago the rules were changed on when practice could start for WBB. You could start practice 42 days before your first regularly scheduled ballgame. You could have 30 practices during that 6 week time period. If that rule still applies that means we could start practice on 10/1/2016.

  7. And another one bites the dust. Not going to panic yet but it doesn't appear we are getting much interest from prospects around the country. This is probably just poor wording on your part but the reason you're posting here is because this prospect expressed interest in our program and we didn't land him. As we only sent out one subtweet like above it seems to me that we knew that Batts was nailing things down soon (which also indicates his interest level in us) At the end of the day I see I guy from the East Coast picking between 2 East Coast schools. I hope overall we didn't invest too much time to figure that out. I should have added "highly" rated prospects. According to 247 we have offered 27 high school prospects for this class....we have one commitment from that group and 14 others have either committed elsewhere or are no longer considering us. We have Parker Stewart maybe coming in for a visit next month, Nana Ankenton has already visited, as did Jericho Sims. Although, some think Sims is destined for Texas. I guess if we want to be we can be pretty selective considering we only have 1 scholarship available for next year...although, I'm sure 1 or 2 more may become available. Hopefully we can get a few more visits lined up before the signing period.

It is a dirty shitty world out there in recruiting. However, K State basketball has never worried about rolling in it.
