    Off season summary

At this point....just have to wait and see what happens,...how everything develops.....how the new team gels with not only each other, but the new Williams scheme(s). Probably new ways of playing some positions, and maybe even playing time will be different. Maybe the most significant point in the article is how young the team is going into the season. On the one hand lack of experience is always an issue, but on the other side....there hopefully won't be huge problems of "unlearning" the old scheme....and learning a new scheme. Would love to watch practice when the fall begins.

Terrible Tragedy that such two fine young men have to be taken from us so suddenly in the prime of their lives. It makes everything else pale in comparison. Prayers to their families and loved ones!

  3. I really believe we got a good one in Jordy. He's still a bit raw, but the physical tools are there, and he's a competitor who likes to get physical in the paint. He doesn't view himself as a 6'10" wing like Walt Pitchford, in other words! He's also a really good kid with good character who fits in really well with the other members of this class and the guys we brought in last year.

    In state kids?

Not only is Teddy Allen lighting it up, he is now one of three local players to hold a P5 offer (Arop and Chang) as Iowa State just offered. I still think Chandler's going to get bigger offers, too. A lot of schools are going after higher targets right now, but as they commit, a 6-9 kid with Chandler's athletic ability might look pretty good by October. Wingett also possible. Definitely some major talent in the state right now.

  8. On his campus visit, Tshimanga met football coach Mike Riley, who offered a suggestion. “He said, ‘Are you sure you don’t want to switch sports?’ ” Tshimanga said. What Riley didn’t know was Tshimanga has played as much organized football as basketball. He played in full-pad youth leagues in Montreal, mostly as a defensive end and lineman. “Football was my game,” Tshimanga said. “Seeing people banging around all the time, I like that physicality.” Music to my ears.

  10. Didn't see any stats, I think Bede had about 10 pts or so, Nice ball handling skills. Announcers thought he seemed like a sparkplug in the game. Seems like he did let a couple of players get by him to the rim a couple of times.

  12. Definitely best of luck Trickey! Glad you got scoped out way back when. These types of problems are detectable with an echocardiogram. Problem is, unless you're having symptoms or have a family history of sudden cardiac death an echocardiogram isn't the first thing they do. It would be nice if they could just scan every athlete, but that isn't done.

    2017 Recruits

This time they'll have a bit of positive momentum. A recruit in hand and more importantly kind of a splash recruit. As important, we defended our home turf. Our biggers needs, as I see it are a post and athletic depth at guard.

  14. Perhaps Coach Miles should hire a Trump 2016 campaign cast-off to assist in the recruiting? They seem to know a thing or two about "Race-baiting"
