  3. I take it AWIII's degree was not in public relations. His career could be used as a casebook to illustrate how not to exit a college career. Can anyone imagine any advisor with his long term interest in mind telling him: "Okay, AW, here is how you should do this. First be sure to leave both colleges where you played without emphasizing how much you enjoyed the state, the fans who supported you, and all of your teammates who will manage very well without you. This will help a lot if you ever want to return to the state and look for a real job when your athletic career ends. Next, be sure to avoid the local media and get all of your feedback from twitter and message boards where your most rational supporters will surely be found. And finally, be sure to find some random reporter somewhere during the recruiting process and plant the seed that the real problem was your previous coach without stating any reason to back this up other than the impressive statistics he allowed you to accumulate during your time there. If you do these things, your chances of having a long and successful professional career will certainly be enhanced."

    In state kids?

Don't sleep on the Koster kid from Kearney. He will be getting some D1 looks if last week was any indication of how muchhe has improved. I have heard from 2 people that officiated Mr. Basketball last week that he averaged over 35 a game playing with his high school team. I guess Kearney beat a pretty good team from Missouri for the championship and Koster Played lights out. Not sure if he is still growing or if he is gonna be a 6'2" or 6'3" tweaner.

What is it that I want to be right about? I love that I'm living rent free in a few peoples heads on here. That's so much better than being right on Andrew. You're kind of self-oriented like Andrew, so there's that. Doubt you're really living in people's heads, and if you are the proclamation that you love it says it all. Let me see if I can explain how we got here so that there is continued bickering about this, at least you'll all be on the same page. Lanigan made a post about Andrew White leaving and then it actually happened. However, as he knew that this was likely/probable/a fact he then subsequently made the connection that this was because of Miles. Once White actually left and how this went down became public he changed his tone as it's become almost crystal clear how insincere White and company were. Thus, Lanigan is remembering about being right about White while others are remembering him being wrong about the culpability of Miles in this particular situation.

    More bad news!?

Andrew is taking a huge beating here. The news writers who cover NU sports are almost universally bashing him. The fans are pissed. My guess is that he really is the good kid we thought he was but that his dad is an ass and had Drew's ear and convinced him he needed to find a better situation. His comments suggest that he thinks a different PR spin on him leaving would have made a difference in terms of how it was perceived. I don't think that's true at all. He could characterize things however he wants and people would still be pissed about it. It's not how he framed it; it's how he did it and when and for what apparent reasons. And I think Drew really misjudged how fans (and media) would react. It's like that night you went out with the guys and didn't communicate your plans with your girlfriend and the next day she's pissed and you can't understand why. In other words, I think he's looking back on this in hindsight and thinking, damn, I didn't think people would be that mad about this. And he's wishing he would have said more at the time but, in order not to feel responsible for handling it badly, he's blaming Nebraska for him not being able to tell the story his way. Drew, it wouldn't have mattered. So, you might as well stick a sock in it and take the (silent) high road from here on out. M'kay?

  17. didn't really want to put this in the AW-III thread then this one popped up... wanted to relay that Nebrasketball players seem to have moved on from the latest saga... saw several players (Glynn, MJ, Jeriah, & Evan Taylor) were at the Omaha Zoo this afternoon having a great time together... didn't bug them but from observation it doesn't appear that they are the type to be stressing anything. ready to roll; fans, though, are a different story...

  23. http://www.mlive.com/spartans/index.ssf/2016/07/andrew_white_iii_opens_up_on_i.html After reading this crap, I just think less and less of AW3. This article just paints the "I" in White. He tries to play that he's the victim, and it just pisses me off. I knew after his initial article about withdrawing from the draft, and he talked about the offense with Coach Miles and getting the ball in his hands that he was much more selfish than we knew, and that Miles probably didn't care for that attitude. Good riddance.

    2018 Recruits

She's rated in most recruiting services in the top ten. She will have her pick in schools. I think every B1G school has now offered. Seem's like she's a heavy lean to South Carolina right now. She has a good relationship with South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley and has already taken unofficial visits to South Carolina. I think she would have verballed South Carolina by now if it hadn't been for interest that she recently received from UConn. Good to see that this new staff isn't not holding back and going all out when it comes to extending offers though. You can't get them if you don't offer.

  27. Who the hell is Zay?Isaiah RobyZay Roby is how he refers to himself on twitter. And, yes, he's nearly as tall as Jordy.... https://twitter.com/JackMcVeigh1/status/753732941130436608 Well now...Zay nearly as tall as Jordy? Really? He does appear quite tall and lanky but let's analyze the photo for a minute. We've ever really done that on this board so it should be fun. What does everyone think? I think that with Jordy weighing in almost 70 lbs more than Zay, his body weight crushes the field turf fibers and compresses the rubber pellets in the turf, sinking his body further into the surface than Zay's. This makes Zay appear taller in comparison to Jordy. On an actual basketball floor (a much harder surface) you would notice the extra 2-3 inches that Jordy has on Zay. So is Jordy not actually 6-11 or is Zay taller than 6-8? Or is it impossible to tell because of the field turf? All I care about is that in all the pictures their knees bend the correct way!m I also like how they are all getting out and enjoying the process which is being a college athlete in a town that loves their college athletes. Also seem to be handling that everybody wants a piece of them.

  29. Totally disagree with this. In fact, I'm not willing to concede that we won't be an NCAA team even without Andrew. Wouldn't it be amusing if we won our first NCAA game this year without him? Let's turn a negative into a positive. It wouldn't just be amusing; it would be poetic. And it's what I'm hoping will happen.

    Andrew White Transfering

Are you a Husker fan or a fan of a team along the Missouri River?Nebraska season ticket holder and long time fan. I was on the Rivals basketball board with Dave and Nustudent before this board was ever created. I prior to the White info was a huge Miles fan. The reality is White wasn't the only one that was/isn't happy.Part of the issue is the AAU system, handler, etc. What Andrew is doing is selfish. He isn't an NBA player. He will never be one, that being said, he was our best player. It sucks. Lastly, this is a great opportunity for the young guys more PT. Man, are you all over the map or what? You went from being a huge Miles fan to a detractor all because of the "White info", yet the AAU system and handlers are the problem, and White is selfish and delusional about his abilities. Yeah, that all makes sense.

That is what I heard from the beginning about Tai, that if White went he would not return. White has not talked with Miles in over a month so I would say the writing was on the wall for quite some time. White went directly to SE for his release and completely bypassed Miles so that also says something. Timmy needs to get his house in order or he will not be long as Nebraska's coach (IMHO not hearing this but). Let me get this straight: Despite Miles giving White complete support as he explored his delusional NBA prospects, including Lewis' connections with Brad Stephens, White doesn't talk to Miles for a month and departs via text to the AD, and it's automatically Timmy who needs to get his house in order? No chance it's White who needs to get real and that commitments are two way streets and it's not just about me? Guy warmed the bench for two years, we gave him a chance to flourish despite the limitations in his game, and now this in late June.

  35. I'm sorry but what an a**hole. It's great to follow your dream, but screwing your team over and leaving when school starts in a month and a half is a complete BS move. I can't wait to see you fail you fricking loser!

  36. The fact that Andrew White thinks he has even a chance of sniffing the NBA is an even bigger joke than he has made himself. Truly a completely chicken ish move on every front. This kid is nowhere close to NBA potential and the sideshow here is clearly him, NOT Miles. Enjoy your six years in Europe, Andy, and having absolutely no legacy at any school you played at. Joke.

  38. Is this what you want the coaching staff telling their players? I doubt they ask me to speak to the players. I doubt they ask you either. That's my opinion, and if you see something good happening from this roster, more power to you. Chuck, it sucks losing your 2 leading scorers off of a 6-12 team, and I may share your concerns about improvement, but impossible is a strong word. Impossible is a synonym for the word "quit".

  39. I'll start by saying I wish Andrew had returned. We obviously would have been better with him. Can't say I'm surprised based on his comments when he came back about the offense needing to change to highlight his skills. I'm sure there are other issues behind the scenes here but do we really want our coach (Miles or anyone else) changing their offensive scheme just because a player thinks it shows his skills better? Not sure what message that sends to others on the team. As far as those now crying for a change in coaching, be careful what you ask for, it's not always better than what you have. I remember a lot of people (myself included) wanted Groce when we hired Miles. How's that working out for Illinois? Say what you want about his coaching or whatever Lanigan and others have heard is going on but our recruiting and fan excitement has exponentially improved under Miles. If we make a change we are back in the "building" mode. One last thing on a coaching change, before you do that you better know you have a better coach waiting in the wings. Regardless of our new facilities, we still have zero real hoops history and would struggle to hire a big name or hot, up-and-coming coach. As for me, I'm going to support the team we have, enjoy watching last years young guys take big steps forward and see how the freshmen turn out. All while cheering for the Huskers, Coach Miles and having a great time going to the games!

  41. I guess I feel bad for our players more than anything else. This drama has been bubbling up for the past two months and had to be a big distraction during off season training for Tai and every other team member. AWIII - if he wanted to be - could have been a consummate leader for this group of teammates he spent two years with. Obviously, he has other priorities, and I respect his right to choose his own path.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk If AW3 is carrying a me first mentality, it definitely is good for the team. A team can be talented and still not perform well if it has internal issues and everyone isn't on the same page. See Nebrasketball 2014-15 We are not winning more games without White no matter how much you want that to be true. Next year is likely to be very ugly again unless we are able to pull a few rabbits out of a hat on the recruiting trail. No offense to Roby and Horne...but it's not fair to be huge expectations on them as freshman and we will be needing them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
