Actually I took it as Norm's sly way of suggesting that maybe the entire Topic deserves a rest. It seems like its something akin to hitting yourself over the head with a hammer because it feels so good when you stop! (or maybe there's an agenda?) Looking at it another way; with only 15 or so scholarships to allocate there are bound to be some obvious (in hindsight) misses; as well as hits. Even if All the scholarships went to in-state kids, I don't believe there would be any shortage of misses.

That hideous baseball game wasn't so hideous at the end. ;>) True enough. I was just getting cranky down 7-1 late after the 20th walk in 2 games. The walks wear a fan down. There was no life. A fan actually called out the dugout for not caring. But then baseball kicks in and the whole world changed. It was like closing time in the old days where that hideous gal at 9 p.m. was looking pretty awesome at 1:00 a.m.

Never mind!

First of all, I don't doubt that we have a lot of hard working players on our team. Here's what I don't understand. If Jacobson is scoring 1,542, and a 1,500 is considered a high A grade (per Wilson), then shouldn't he be dominating other players in the Big Ten? Since he didn't, does that mean the players he played against would get a A+++ grade (or some superlative grade)? I think it's established that these guys have put in a lot of time and effort into improving themselves. But I guess I didn't see a lot of freakishly athletic folks on the floor this past winter.

The rumors aren't directly basketball related. They have nothing to do with this year's record; Any discussion of a coaching change based on on the court performance would be absurd. Basketball-wise there is a long history of extraordinary success for this program. We have the freshman player of the year in the league and a highly ranked incoming class. There is nothing there basketball wise to discuss. If the record we had this year (nearly 20 wins and a .500 record in the league; not exactly a disaster) after losing 4 senior starters and then half the team to injury has people calling it a tough year creating a rumor mill, our fan base has become spoiled beyond belief. I don't know whether any rumors flying around are true, but I assure you if something happens it will have nothing to do with the past season, on the court performance in games, or recruiting.
