  1. Woolridge and Boone were top 50 kids according to the preview mags I used to buy. Strickland was considered the 3rd best of that group. Amazing recruiting class for us, and we had Badget coming off a redshirt. Of all the kids we could have beaten out KU for in recruiting, it had to be Boone.

  3. Really impressive player, but foot speed was an issue. When I watched him, he looked like he had really big feet, kind of like a kid who's going to grow several more inches. (I didn't measure his feet, that's just the way he looked. ) Anyway, NDSU is a decent program, and he could develop into a solid player. I'm saying it right now: if he blows up at NDSU, Miles should have offered him.

    Yori rumors.......

The rumors aren't directly basketball related. They have nothing to do with this year's record; Any discussion of a coaching change based on on the court performance would be absurd. Basketball-wise there is a long history of extraordinary success for this program. We have the freshman player of the year in the league and a highly ranked incoming class. There is nothing there basketball wise to discuss. If the record we had this year (nearly 20 wins and a .500 record in the league; not exactly a disaster) after losing 4 senior starters and then half the team to injury has people calling it a tough year creating a rumor mill, our fan base has become spoiled beyond belief. I don't know whether any rumors flying around are true, but I assure you if something happens it will have nothing to do with the past season, on the court performance in games, or recruiting.

  5. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:15107092 watching the video didn't sway me to agreeing with her. having said that, i really haven't thought about lowering the basket in the women's/girls game at all. the one thing that comes to mind, wonder the consequences of trying to adjust to a lower basket? don't know, maybe it wouldn't take the players long. btw, the dunk has never really impressed me. i think there are many more skills in basketball that impress me more than a dunk. delle donne tries to argue there are more advantages than the dunk, though.

  6. I watched Gill own NCST to send UL to the Elite Eight. He was on a team with ridiculous guard play and was still contributing important minutes as an underclassman. His situation is very comparable to AWIII. He's a starter virtually anywhere else in the country. I'd be shocked if he isn't one of the best SGs in the B1G.

  7. Wow that is the fast 40 time ever! Is he going to rep the Kiwis in Rio this summer?

  8. Stu Pospisil ‎@stuOWH Omaha Central has agreed to play Winnebago (Chandler and Behrens against the Indians' Wingett) in the 2016-17 basketball season.#nebpreps There is some talk of a double header with Omaha South v Norfolk at the same site. Not sure if it will happen but a possibility right now. If it does you could watch Arop, Wingett, Strom, Chandler and Behrens all at once.

  10. Man... I'd throw Doyle an offer immediately. I was always pretty impressed with him, but he didn't fit UM that well. He's 6'9" 250, and he carries it well (strong not fat). Obviously, best case would be that we already have a couple of 5s, but I've seen that kid log quality minutes. Also, I agree that this is a great statement from Beilein who is an excellent coach and person.

  11. Especially against teams that play a 2-3 zone against us. Backside alley oops can happen AT LEAST once a game against zones like thatWhich always surprises me when Syracuse has such success. It always looks like the back door lob is open. What's stopping teams from throwing it ten times a game? Those lobs develop from set plays and Miles runs a continuity offense? I'm not speaking specifically of Miles...I'm saying people who play Syracuse. They play their 2-3 zone with their low players sneaking up off the baseline quite a distance...I'm always surprised people don't scout them to run lobs behind the zone to pull those guys back, opening up holes in the middle. Of course I've never coached beyond the junior high level, and my record was far from stellar (unlike some kidney fellow who used to spend time here), so I admit I really don't know much about what I'm saying. It just looks open an awful lot.

  12. All of those are good, Norm, but none of them will ever compare with the April Fool's fiasco the A.D. compliance department pulled on us, with botched paperwork and Roburt Sallie going instead to Memphis. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/26192-nebraska-basketball-the-tale-of-roburt-sallie

  13. I've been meaning to start this in another thread, but speaking of alley-oops, unless I've missed it, it never seems like we try to incorporate the alley-oop into our half court offense, and I've wondered why that is.

  15. You're right tho, Norm. Gonna be a real long off season. We should make sure to fight, bicker, and argue as much as possible. That way we get it all out before the season starts.

    In state kids?

Oh no! The 20 page curse! Does this mean we won't sign any in-state kids?

  17. This is a little concerning though basically having another Andrew White who can cover the other team's SG will be nice. Glynn/Tai are going to be critical for us penetrating into the lane though Glynn will need to learn to finish this year in the trees. Not concerning for me. I watched Gill closely during the scrimmage and I think I have a feel for what his "game" is like. He's not an Andrew White kind of player. He'll slash to the rim very effectively. He also has the ability to shoot off the dribble and, more importantly, he has a very quick catch and release and needs very little space to get off a shot. He's that guy who's not afraid to shoot with a defender in his zip code that I've been wishing for for so long. He'll be a completely different offensive player than either Tai or Andrew.

  18. What do you mean "N"? When we say that on recruiting threads, it has a particular meaning. You're not supposed to say that unless you have solid info from a reliable source. So, when you said "N" what were you intending by that?

    B1G in the WNIT

Amy Gusso Williams keeps bringing it. Up big in the WNIT over Oregon. 68-32 after 3. EDIT: 88-54 final. At one point they were 14-19 from 3. One of the Bradleys from Norfolk getting time.

    Strength of the B1G

NC State was 10-6 in ACC play. They tied Miami for 5/6 place. When healthy we beat them soundly.

    Yori rumors.......

Although I'm not a fan of everything she does, wasn't she the coach of the year 2 years ago when we won the conf tournament? Plus, the national COY a few years ago when we went through the B12 undefeated? That being said,it SEEMS as if some previous assistants were relied upon for their recruiting abilities.Recruiting is the life-blood of any college program and we have had a revolving door recently with some top asst coaches. This can't help in recruiting-neither will this "rumor".

    B1G in the WNIT

Kind of had thought the B1G would have decent showings in the tourneys. Turns out the B1G overall really wasn't all that much of a threat to the big picture of NCAA women's Bball this year. The way all the B1G teams beat each other up this year, kind of was a foretelling of what would happen at years end. No real dominating teams....OSU, and Maryland, particularly, had their moments....but mixed in even for them... were unexpected losses. Watching some of the tourney teams playing and winning...the B1G has a way to go. Just hope we can have a relatively healthy next year, so we can come closer to our real potential. We have some talent, and more coming in....got to be pretty optimistic looking forward.

  23. If he broke his right tibia before the season and broke his left tibia toward the end of it, then I'd say he's out of tibias to break. So that's a good thing, right?
