  1. Not a troll, the whole Kelley clan is from Inman. Been stranded in SEC country most of my life, but my mom and Grandpa had the good sense to raise me as a Husker. When I was in college, mid 90s, I'm getting old, I was driving to the Big 8/Big 12 conference tournaments even as UK was tearing it up. I have read these boards for years, but sense the tide is turning against Miles, and that should not happen. I might be wrong on the transfer, but I'm not trying to mislead anyone. I'm Red all the way through. Just for fun, check Jordy T's twitter and see who his best friend is. Just saying....

    The coaching carousel

Like seeing Moe. He may have been the most underappreciated coach in Husker basketball history.

  4. Guess I read into Huskerinkentucky's hint that Jordy T's best friend on Twitter was the transfer target. Must have been wrong about that. I assumed that Link was that best friend on Twitter. No, I don't think you're necessarily wrong. I'm just not that into Link on Big Red. But, if he gets us Jordy, then sure, let's do it! GBR Got it. I'm with you. Would love Jordy and the center from Louisville!

  5. I think my answer to that is 2 months out when my agreement with UK SID is over. Hopefully we will have a huge kid nearly on campus by then.

  6. So many of these guys come through Cal's camps, either as counselors, or as players. His camp in Indianapolis is when I fell in love with Roby. I kept a watchful eye for the last year waiting for UK to offer him, but damn, that kid has always been N. He is hellbent on resurrecting/building a program. Miles can flat out recruit, most of these recruiting guru types have taken notice.

  9. Glynn Watson working on ball handling. Good to see him keeping busy over spring break working on skills development. So, what are the other guys up to? Jake Hammond? Eating, lifting, eating, lifting, studying, eating, lifting, eating, eating, freethrows. Andrew White? 500 treys by 5:00 p.m. Every day. Anton Gill? Xbox for an hour, nap, study some film, chill. Eat some pizza. Visualize greatness. Jack McVeigh? Shoot like an American, shoot like an American, shoot like ... Tai Webster? Shoot like an American, shoot like an American, shoot like ... Michael Jacobson? Watch the Sweet 16 with McVeigh and Webster and ... shoot like an American, shoot like an American ... Ed Morrow? Read book "How to Score without Dunking" Bakari Evelyn? Search internet for colleges and universities that offer major in Music Therapy. OK, other than KU.

  10. We have to retain him or it won't matter. This concerns me right now with some rumblings I heard over the weekendI would like to see Watson get this three point % up to mid 30's next year. If he can become a threat from deep he will be very tough to stop. Care to elaborate? Any reason why he wouldn't stay?I can share some things. Info comes directly from someone who knows Ed/Morrow family, we'll just leave it at that. They have frequent contact with Ed and have lengthy discussions (ie actually know Ed/Morrow family not just here-say or saw him at the mall once and said hi).Ed is struggling with going from high school where he played every minute and was 'the guy' to having to earn minutes/work hard to see the floor. As is probably the case with most guys his age he feels like he should have played more this year (despite being injured). He also had some school issues which probably led to decreased opportunity toward the end of first semester. So injuries/grades probably kept him from playing as much as he might have, which is obviously frustrating to him, but he stills feels he was shorted for playing time. He also feels like he lacks a true relationship with any of the coaches. Right now Ed is kind of questioning whether he should return or transfer and give it a go elsewhere. He's wavering back and forth. The good news is that he doesn't know or even have a plan on where he would transfer to. To me it sounds like freshman frustrations (magnified by injuries), and I truly hope for his sake that he gives it another go here at Nebraska. He really has the potential, raw ability and talent to be a special player here. One of those that succeeds so much that his name is remembered amongst the Husker greats. Even more so if he can help the program achieve new heights. If I had to guess right now I'd say he would be back...but you never know what goes on in these young minds...he's got good people guiding his decisions... More info in about a week... Morrow has a lot of potential but he's also a guy who doesn't have his defensive assignments down + was lifting weights on his own. To me these are signs that he believes he knows (or hears from non-staff members) what it is that he needs to do to play more instead of following what the coaches want him to do. Now is a time of year to stew about not playing enough last year and imagine that it's going to be the same thing next year...not particularly productive. Putting the question "What do I need to do to start next year?" to the staff, getting a detailed list, and then following it seems a lot more useful to accomplish his goals. Most every guy on our roster and most every roster is going to have thoughts about whether they should transfer. For Ed maybe there are reasons why playing with a bunch of family around him is a bad idea...it certainly wasn't the best for Deverell Biggs. For instance, Bakari Evelyn is potentially going through a similar process but because he doesn't have family around here there isn't a 'bunch of smoke' floating around about what he's going to do. At the end of the day though we're in one of the top conferences in the country and a team lacking in post players and it doesn't seem like lack of talent or physical ability is a problem. Maybe this place isn't ultimately the best for him but it would seem extremely short-sided to make that decision after just one injury plagued year when that option will still be available if he felt the same way next year (if he even feels like this at all)

In the next 8 months ...

The Tunnel Talk is available to paid Rivals members. But, I will say that the "news" is nothing really new or earth shattering that hasn't been discussed on here already. Robin has a public tweet putting to bed the Ed Morrow transfer rumors and talks about that a bit more. Nothing super substantial is really added to that in TT. I do still stand by all of my information about the Ed Morrow situation that I gave out earlier. It would still be very surprising to me for him to transfer, but that is still very much up in the air, and those discussions I shared were feelings he had after his post season meetings with Miles and staff were wrapped up but prior to him talking in depth with his family about his issues/frustrations. I very much expect him to return.

  12. We have not seen a healthy point guard on our team since Theriot's sophomore season. PG makes everything else go. I think you will see a benefit for all positions.

  17. Just keep him away from any wheelbarrows and I think his legs will be fine. I heard wheelbarrows actually make your knee joints reverse direction so they bend the wrong way No joke! Those things are trouble!

  18. In college basketball offense wins championships but defense is a great talent equalizer. We made pretty good strides in offense this year which is why with a rim protector and some defensive strides from the young ones I think we will be better next year.

  22. I've mentioned this before but I would like to share again. I studied Journalism under the same Superior High teacher as Lee B. That connection aside, he has always been one of my favorite writers. There are times yes, when I wince reading some of his columns regarding the Basketball program, but it's because what he's usually saying is true and I don't like to be reminded. I think he is firm yet fair and I am glad he is the B1G beat writer.

  23. Tim Miles walks into a bar. The bartender says,"What can I get you?" Miles: I need a big man! The bartender brings out a Busch Light tall boy. "Ha ha ha." OMG! "That's a good one. Wait till I tell the Mrs that one." " Someone should get that to Steve Martin so he can use it at the Pinewood Bowl this fall." Or, "Is it bad joke." If it's a bad joke is it as bad as Miles going two consecutive seasons and working on his third with an open schollie? Whats the reason behind not filling schollies? A. Lack of wisdom. B. Energy deficit. C. Afraid of adding to his big-man stiffs and whiffs. D Trying to acquire brown-nose points with the administration by keeping schollie expenses down. Granted Miles has had some tough big-man luck like losing a recruit to Kent State but he hasn't done much, if anything, to enhance his big-man good luck.
