Deverell Biggs dismissed from the team

      Deverell Biggs

Biggs will be working to finish up his degree in the hopes of transferring to a new school with one year of college eligibility left.

LINCOLN — It appears that Deverell Biggs' Nebraska basketball career is over after just 15 games in two years.

The junior guard out of Omaha Central was dismissed from the team Monday evening for repeated disciplinary woes, two sources with knowledge of the action told The World-Herald.

Looks like Trey Dickerson just became an even hotter commodity for Miles and staff.

Does Harold think we might have a chance to get Danny Manning?

Sorry, Jimmy, I heard Danny Manning likes it in Lawrence and has no intention of leaving.  Hate to burst your bubble on that one, but sounds like Danny is a KU lifer.

Are you guys implying that a board that requires paid membership to keep in the loop might need to manufacture news to keep up it's membership?  If you aren't, then I am. People love it when you lose, They love dirty laundry.

Getting some angry response from a non-Bluejay message board? That's a new one.

Absolutely eichorst and miles had communication. Any time that a player is removed at any school the AD needs to be aware.

This was Tim's decision along with a few other key individuals (not eichorst or boehm etc)

Put aside who you might think made a decision here.

Biggs missed 4 games due to disciplinarian reasons.

Can someone point me to one single person in this thread who thought that Deverell  should have been given another chance?

Are there people here that think one of the best players on our team wasn't given every opportunity and more to make it here?

Did whomever you happen to believe made a decision make the right decision?  It would seem so.

Who's more key than SE or MB?

hhcdimes, some paid boards exist not to make money but to keep out trolls.

You're missing the point here. It matters a great deal who made the decision and how that decision came about. Lets say someone is convicted of robbing a house but it is later found out they did not rob that house. Now lets say that person had previously robbed a house but it was never proven. Do we then say the original conviction was just because we know this person has previously committed the same crime before but was never arrested and charged?

This boils down to the AD trying to micromanage internal team disciplinary problems. This is a real problem.

Eichorst was asked to give his opinion of the situation, he in no way "forced Miles' hand". Miles made the decision himself. And it had nothing to do with some Biggs & Miles Penn St. situation. It had everything to do with Biggs' actions, or better, in actions over the weekend.

Running a members only board where the only people who read it is one way to keep out trolls.

Considering that every person who can access the site has to be allowed in by the people who run the site, how does charging some sort of fee guarantee the quality of the member?

Not according to Damon who talked directly to Biggs. Hopefully the reason Biggs wasn't at the team meeting will come out publicly.

Ron honestly more of a pm discussion as I in no way am putting it on a message board out of respect to Biggs and direct people involved.

I wish Biggs the best and he needs to leave Omaha and escape his chains in Omaha. Deep down he is a great kid who just needs a vision. I respect Damon for reaching out to him as he needs a good mentor in his life. I also respect nu and coach for supporting him to graduate if he wants to do so.

I'm just ready for hoops Thursday night so we can put this bread at the bottom.

Doesn't. I was just refuting your assumption that people make stuff up on pay sites to get more members and increase revenue.

We have a big game on Thursday. The Eichorst portion of this issue is a slow burn for me. PM me if you wish.

Guys again Biggs is a kid who has selfish behaviors displayed on and off the court. Glad Biggs talked to Damon but what evidence has Biggs given us to trust him. Biggs has one side but the other side has much stronger credibility than the mouth of biggs

Like I said if you'll believe Damon when he talked about Bigg's personal issue, then you also have to give credibility to what he is saying about SE involvement. Damon is pretty dialed in and wouldn't say something unless it were true. I'm not trusting Biggs 100% but I do trust Damon.

So you think Miles is a liar?

It was Miles call ultimately.  He even said so.  Not complicated unless you think Miles is a liar.

...or he was falling on the sword to show that he isn't an energy vampire.

    I'm not missing the point.

It seems implausible to me that our AD is hanging out at film sessions or has the time to micromanage the basketball team when he spends most of his day allegedly micromanaging the football team.

You seem to believe the opposite.  You also seem to believe that if what you believe is true, then our program will be in trouble down the line.

My point was whether the right decision was made.  To me, it seems so.

In which case he would have lied.  I don't think he is a liar.

Replace the word "news" with "drama" or "issues".

Why would you pay to visit a board with nothing to talk about?

    +1

For the record, I don't believe for one second that the AD forced Miles' hand.  This was Miles' decision to make and he made it.

Regardless, from everything I can tell, Miles bent over backwards and tied himself in knots to try to make this work.  I actually really appreciate this about Miles.

In the past, some players were run off that I truly did not agree with.  I felt they were never given a fair shot.

Biggs was given a fair shot, over and over and over again.  At some point, Miles has to do right by the team.  And he made the tough call that he still probably didn't want to make.  But it was the right call.

You're free to believe what Biggs and Benning told you on the radio. You're also free to be wrong.

I am, but unfortunately I'm not. My information is more than just the Damon..
