    Keon Edwards is N

The 6'7" DePaul transfer and Pasadena, Texas native picks Nebraska.

The former consensus top 100/4* recruit ended up enrolling early at DePaul.  Though he only played sparingly, Edwards essentially didn't use any eligibility and will have 4 years of eligibility at Nebraska. Prior to his time at DePaul, Edwards averaged 14.3 points and 5.5 rebounds for Hillcrest Prep in Arizona. Edwards also participated in the USA Basketball program in 2019.

Nebraska currently with 1 remaining scholarship for 2021-22

You are coming across as a bit of a jackwagon. You should at least understand the rules before going down the jackwagon path.  If Thor returns it does not affect our ability to get an extra recruit.  He doesn't count against our scholarship total any longer.  Even if he did, show some appreciation for a kid that became a great leader down the stretch three years in a row for a club that badly needed one each year.

No I'd rather win and Edward's gives us a better chance.

Only so many guys in the rotation though.

My answer was to provide clarification on our scholarship situation.

Thorir will have no effect on our scholarships.

It doesn't take much more effort to point out that Stevenson's style of play doesn't fit well or that having Thorir here might take playing time away from guys who don't know the system as well as he does or even saying nothing at all. Why isn't it fair for your calls for high levels of play to be met with calls for higher levels of commenting?

Did the talent level not needed to be upgraded since the first 2 years of Fred being here? This is a confusing argument. Who are you going to take time away from to play Thor? It's a more than fair question.

Thor doesn’t have to play to benefit the team.

While we have a really solid class coming in, but the odds of all or even most of our new pieces being "Thor year 5" ready to go on Day 1 are slim to none.  Thor could provide some valuable experience early in the year when things are trying to click.... and who knows what Thor could do on a team with a bunch of firepower around him.

A FREE YEAR OF COLLEGE MIGHT BE A REALLY, REALLY, REALLY GOOD REASON TO COME BACK.

YOU KNOW THE REAL REASON TO GO TO COLLEGE FOR MOST!

He has a chance to play professional ball in his home country.  Theres a thing called the internet where he can finish any remaining courses he has.

Maybe. Post what your rotation looks like I think it's a good conversation.

and there is a thing called tuition that he would have to pay if he is in Iceland playing ball.

That would be at the around 25,000 so...

Even if he is making money playing, it would be a FREE year of college.

Nebraska does have a program for the athletes that “go pro” that allows them to finish their degrees on the school. I would expect that to be an option for him.

It's a fine debate regarding your rotation which is more valuable talent or experience.  Thankfully unlike the last few years I think we are fine on experienced players. With Edwards talent though it wouldnt be surprising if he becomes a starter. We will see.

    SSI Evaluation

    Prospect: SF Keon Edwards
    Projected Position: Small Forward
    Status: SI All-American Candidate
    Vitals: 6-foot-7, 185 pounds
    School: Phoenix (Ariz.) Hillcrest Prep

Frame: Lean frame with room to add and develop muscle at the next level.

Athleticism: Edwards gets where he needs to on the court because of his quickness and agility. He’s not the player that’s going dunk over multiple defenders through contact, but he’s going to get to his spots and be efficient once there.

Instincts: Edwards is a scorer and knows how and when to get his shot. He’s adept at creating space off the dribble and thrives as a catch-and-shoot marksman from NBA range. Edwards’ specialty is knocking down contested shots, which speaks to his elite level of concentration on the offensive end.

Polish: Edwards doesn’t force plays and plays at his own pace. He has a high basketball IQ, which helps him to excel as a big-time shooter. He moves well without the ball and knows how to get open on the wing.

Bottom Line: Edwards’ ability to knock down shots from all over the floor makes him a dangerous player on the court at all times. At DePaul, that’s what will keep him on the floor and give him the best chance to excel going forward.

It's even more impressive when you see it displayed on SI's site
