Nebraska Takes Down #24 Clemson on the Road

Huskers show the resolve missing in KC

    - My DVR didn't start right away so I missed the first couple of minutes of the game. I came in right in the middle of the review. Kinda weird to me that kicking a player has the same penalty as a shove, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

    - Palmer getting into the lane early is a good sign.

    - Of course tonight is the night Clemson hits 3s...

    - I like having Nana and Tom on the floor at the same time.

    - Heiman changes shots in the paint...

    - Palmer picked up a garbage offensive foul that should have been called on Clemson's Thomas. The very next trip down the court, he picked up another silly foul. Sneaky hidden no-call that may or may not have had a significant outcome...

    - Loved how these guys have hung in there. That's the benefit of a veteran crew.

    - Roby's just, IDK, not locked in or something. He's a total team player because he shouldn't be playing the 5 and it's costing him minutes.

    - When Nebraska's defense is good, it's really, really good.

    - Some really good minutes from Tanner with Roby on the bench. Maybe the best of his career.

    - This is the Nebrasketball we saw last year. Scrappy, attacking and relentless.

    - NU made some huge plays down the stretch, despite Clemson pushing it to 2 points.

    - This is a win that will resonate in February and March. This is a win they didn't have last year.

You might not want to use the words "cocky" and "suckers" so close in the same sentence. Someone could get the wrong impression.  Not me, of course.  Someone.

They're the game cocks. Don't be such a sucker, Normy. ;)

Just because I spent the time to look it up I have determined we have never defeated an AP ranked opponent in a true road game.

@ KU in '99 is one for sure I would think.

    Really?  That surprises me.

Seems they would've maybe knocked off a ranked Mizzou or KSU on the road at some point back in the day.

Other than a once-in-a-lifetime run by the Gamecocks, I don't associate South Carolina with much of anything in basketball either. Big on secession, sure. Basketball, not so much.

They smoked us when we played at ASU.

I’ll be damned, yer right. Each team won on it’s home court in ‘07-‘08, but we did hold Harden to 8 points in Lincoln...

Went back and re-watched this game last night.  Some thoughts:

Clemson is good.  Didn't play their best ball but didn't play poorly, either.

We also didn't play our best ball.  Played most of the game without one of our starters.  Amazes me some of the ticky-tack shit they whistle on Roby while letting maulings go uncalled.

Bottom line conclusion for me:  We played a good team that played reasonably well at THEIR house, and we beat them without bringing our A+ game.  Maybe not even our A game.  We're for real.

I thought Nee or Collier beat Minnesota?

We beat #20 Minnesota at home.

I just researched that.  We beat them the next year on the road, but they weren't ranked that time.  Combined the two.

This is what I used, made it fairly simple as it shows the AP rank next to the team and shows it at the time you played. You can see Minnesota ranked at #14 as verification.
