      #24 Huskers overwhelms Missouri St 85 - 62

Nebraska takes care of business as expected

    - I'm cool with the increased emphasis on taking 3's, but let's not settle for them. Felt like we did a lot early.

    - Glynn got a little sloppy at times, which was a little uncharacteristic.

    - But man, his shot is on point right now.

    - Husker defense is really good. Missouri St. had trouble getting any good looks. Everything was contested.

    - Palmer's got a little hitch in his stroke from deep.

    - Super solid minutes from the bench, all four of them.

    - Copeland was a huge matchup problem for Mo St.

    - It's fun to have more than one scoring option on the roster.

    - Liked the press at the end of the half.

    - Glynn has been the cutstopper this year.

    - Free throws, ugh...

    - Allen's defense has been a nice revelation so far this year.

    - Mo St. is pesky.

    - I'd be cool if the coaches told JPJ to not take another 3 for the next few games.

    - So far on this season, Cope has looked more like an NBA player than JPJ has.

    - I like a lot of what I've seen from Nana so far this year.

    - That roby block and Nana 3 in transition is the kind of thing that demoralizes teams like Mo St.

    - NU went on a 12-3 run after that. If Mo St. throws that thing down, they're energized, down 11 and you ever know. Instead, NU hits a transition 3 and is off to the races.

    - This is kinda what you expect in a game like this. Mo St. was hungry early and hung on, but NU's depth and talent was just too much in the end.

    - NU will get a chance for a really good win tomorrow, regardless of opponent.

We brought what I would say is our C+ game and won by 20+ points. That’s good news. Probably Palmers worst game we will see all year.

With thanksgiving coming up im thankful that Akenten did not transfer. He is a legit threat from deep. The two threes he missed were down and out.

    Go Red Raiders tonight.

Honestly, none of the last two games seemed like we were in any danger at all -- against a couple fair teams.

It's like somewhere along the line we just decide and the game is over.

This team will get tested tomorrow.  But i like our chances.

    • Wasn't thrilled with the way we were "chucking" from 3 in the 1st half. Got much better shot selection in the 2nd half.
    • Wish Roby would play with more aggression like he did toward the end of the 2nd half. When he does, he can be really powerful.
    • JPJ's outside shot is just off. Not sure why but his rhythm is all over the place.
    • Starting to think the straw that will stir this drink in 2018-19 is Isaac Copeland. Not flashy but man is he some kind of glue for this team.

Nice to pull away and win handily.  We settled for too many outside shots in the first half but created some offense with defense in the 2nd which allowed us to break the game open.   Tomorrow will tell us more of what we hope to know about this Husker team.

    I'll give it a go.

    • A good team was going to win that game.  We were always there with a semi-comfortable lead.
      • HOWEVER-- A great team pulled away
    • I know everyone didn't like the shot selection early.  However, that is what Miles wants this year.  We were taking the shots that were given to us.  They were not going to let us drive.  Finally when we made a run, the driving lanes opened up and bam... we are up 20.
    • Mo State had some dudes that can make some shots.  Certainly will be better in future years, but could give most teams fits this year.
    • Was always going to be a "create your own energy" crowd.  Wasn't much to the crowd overall.  Hoping for a more prominent crowd tomorrow.
    • Our depth is no longer an issue for me.  We go 9 deep and have 5 prominent scorers starting.  Couple that with a nice scoring threat off the bench and 3 guys who do the little things right, and we are in a good spot.
    • Nana... My Man... Kudos for not giving up and working it out.  He will be good for 5-10 PPG each night.
    • Copeland stock- Up... Glynn stock- Up.... Roby stock- Same... James stock- Down.
    • However, the game really turned for us when Palmer realized that he was off.  He then started to look for other players on his drives and stopped shooting from outside.

Nebraska is good, they need to let 3’s come naturally and they will take care of most teams.

Im comfortable with about 9 players on this team, when the bench is sprinkled in with starters.

They finish off teams a way I’ve never seen Nebraska do, at least this consistently.

Hope Palmer got the bad ones out tonight because he was not good on either side of the court.

if this is what cope looks like w a healthy back wowzers. Nice to see roby get it going In the second half as well.

Its nice to see the development of both nana and allen for those who think miles doesn’t develope guys. Nana is probably my favorite sker and should of been 5 for 5 from deep tonight. Main thing is both these guys are playing their roles to a tee right now

i think I honesty feel better about our front court depth then I do our back court right now. Never thought I’d say that 2 weeks ago

I haven't seen them look remotely ruffled yet, other than the crappy T call the other day.

Seems we just played two games in a row that were exactly the same. 2/3 sleepwalking, last 1/3 "oh, guess we should hit the spread now". Be interesting to see if this is a real trend or not.

Roby hasnt looked like a first round pick to me at all this year, EXCEPT for that stretch late in the second half where he was aggresive and looked so powerful and quick. That spin he had on his way to the basket was niiiiice. Dudes who are 6'8 and 230 cant usually move like that.

That Roby is definitely an NBA player

But we need to see that Roby more often.

Glynn and Copeland are playing great bball right now. James not so much, i liked how he deferred to his teammates in the second half and picked up some nice assists.

Nana is gonna be our spark plug off the bench. No other bench player is capable of scoring more than a couple points at the moment.

Tom Allen hit some threes and collected FIVE steals. Thats awesome.

Seemed like we had a pretty businesslike approach to the game. Obviously didn’t have a home court advantage to give us energy but I thought we played hard and played with purpose. Settled for some outside shots but it happens every game and will continue to happen, just need to limit them.

I thought the average level of difficulty on made shots was a lot higher for them. A couple of those don’t go in and we win by 30+.

That being said, MSU has a couple talented players and vs 90-95% of teams out there they would at minimum hang with for 30 minutes or more. We did about exactly what I thought we would do. The more talented team won convincingly in the end

Here's to hoping that Tech and USC play five overtimes!!!

Solid win tonight.  Thought Palmer really played within himself in the 2nd half.  He clearly has some mechanics to tweak on his 3 point shot and I am pretty sure he didn't chuck.up a three over the final 10 minutes or so.  He did a good job of facilitating in the 2nd half knowing he wasn't shooting good.  I think that mentality can help dispel the notion that he is going to be a me first player and try to get his to the detriment of the team.  He showed a lot of maturity to me tonight.  I love this team.

Somehow, Roby has to become more aggressive.

He’s a superstar with a barely beta mentality.

The difference between this team and past teams that we had that were decent is the depth.   In past years if our best scorer had a bad night we lost, this year we might have 4 guys that can be that best scorer night in and night out.    Another thing is with our length our switching on defense doesn't hurt us near as much as in the past,  it is really hard to get a mismatch on this team.

Announcers were talking about this, too. Sometimes a player is just who he or she is, and they have a personality that is what it is. Roby's a junior now, and he's basically the same player mentally that he's always been. He wouldn't be the first player to have NBA tools but a mid major personality. That's no sin, either, but if it stays this way his pro career will likely be short and in Europe.
