I can't believe we only won by 29. Everyone needs to get better. - Tom Izzo, probably

This one went largely as expected.

    • It's gonna be tough for this team to go anywhere as long as Jordy and Duby continue to play with constant foul trouble.
    • Good to see Roby back.
    • Not sure how many front lines we'll face like this one. NU couldn't do anything in the paint.
    • After a good stretch shooting the ball, they took a major step back in that category today, only hitting at 27.4% from the floor
    • Michigan St. is really, really good. They're gonna go far in my bracket in March.

That's as much energy as I'm willing to spend on this game right now.

Yup, not much to say about this one other than the team with the most talent and who played the best won.  Our bigs were overmatched but our guard corp did okay.  I also thought Isaiah did well coming off an ankle sprain.

I truly believe we need Jordy to be successful for us to have a successful year.  Perhaps it is time for Jordy to start the game on the bench in order to see the game flow.  Perhaps he would be more successful coming in after the first media time out.  I just know that we have been starting slow by attempting to feed the post, and we are not having success.

I am not sure Goldy Gopher is beatable!  I want to see results before I get excited about this season.

They're absolutely beatable. They're also very good and could certainly beat us, even handily, but they're not close to MSU's level. If we shoot closer to our season numbers, we'll be right in this game.

This is where I'm at, too. Especially the first sentence. We need Jordy (and to a lesser extent Duby) to contribute at least something. We're not really getting that right now.

I hate it when we put in the scrubs to assure that the final score is 10 points worse than it should be.

And I’m tired of Nebrasketball being out matched.

Eh, I liked the couple extra minutes Nana and Thor got tonight. If you're not gonna redshirt them, use them in those situations.

But yes, I'm tired of getting outmatched, too.

Mich St IMO is the best team on our schedule. So the result was not surprising. Hate to say it so early...but Minnesota is a must win. If not, I'm afraid of a possible 0-6 start in Big Ten play. Big game this week.

We have 1 day off before Minny.  Honestly wouldn't of minded them being in a little sooner.  Save some legs for the game we can certainly win.

I still think we were good at shooting the ball.  I think the lower percentages have to do more with bullet point 3 than us not shooting well.

Played a huge factor, no question.

I liked Roby's effort in this one. I hope he continues to be more assertive and aggressive driving the basketball. He had some decent drives and moves. His 3's looked smooth as well. Overall, I want to see him get more and more swagger about him. He has great potential.

This game made me miss Ed and MJ.  Especially Ed.

Me too.  An Ed that would be willing to do the dirty work, play down low, and stay off of the wing to make room for Roby and Copeland is someone that I would miss.  However, if Ed was not willing to do that and wanted to butt heads with Copeland and Roby to try and play the wing, I would take Copeland and Roby any day of the week.

MJ is a meh for me.  Would have been a nice role player this year, but just didn't and still don't see very many minutes for MJ.  Ed though, he could have started at the 5 and been a nice go getter in the post for us this year.  IF he was willing to do that.

we shot 45% from 3 and only have 5 turnovers, but lost by 30. WTF

mich state might be the best team in the country, but losing by 30 is a bad sign.

Lost by a bunch on the road against a final four team.... move on to the next one!

That being said.... Miles is sure adamant about getting Jordy the ball in the post to start games, and I’m not a big fan. Gets us off to weird starts.

jordy has been the biggest disappointment so far. i just don't see any aspect where he has improved from last year.

7 out of 40 (17.5%) shooting from inside the 3 point arc will do it.  But credit MSU defense and dominant big men for a lot of that.
