    Palmer is N

      JTBLHRYFNCUIGSS.20140717191708.jpg

Former Miami Hurricane James Palmer picks Nebraska, citing the recent success of Terran Petteway and Andrew White III transferring into the program. He's spend a year redshirting with 2 left to play.
Palmer, a 2014 high school graduate, was a Rivals Top 100 four star from the DC area.

Miami transfer James Palmer told @CBSSports he will visit Temple at the end of April & Nebraska in May. Cincinnati, Cal, & UW also in mix.

Typical... If someone transfers, you'll always have the good riddance posters. (Petteway) probably wasn't a mannnnn I can't believe he's leaving guy.

That's expected even if they don't transfer.  What have people around here said about Benny Parker and Tai Webster?

Hell, what were people saying about Aleks Maric?  They were always complaining that he would miss "bunnies."

How much would we like to have an Aleks Maric now?

I would love to have Aleks right now, and I'm sure I would still yell at him for missing too many bunnies.

jones: don't you realize that you are expected to complete an hour of mental gymnastics before making a post on this board? I am already exhausted this morning just by doing this one.

Posting while mentally insane is not wrong on this board, either.  :o  -_-     :o  -_-  ;)

a bit worried that palmer isn't visiting until may.

we can't afford to wait too long with 3 open scholarships, or we may end up with nothing.

Wants to get done with this spring semester maybe?

    It's James Palmer weekend, BTW

From second-hand reports, there was a sighting of Mr. Palmer at Misty's with Coach Miles, and that James is "an extremely nice kid."

** Reminiscent of Mr. White from a couple of summers ago.

My info says mom wants him in Lincoln. Thinks it's a safe place for him to land, doesn't want him in a big city anymore

This makes sense. I have family both in Miami and a few who went to UMiami, they said a good portion of the students spend their evenings downtown/ in South Beach. My uncle is a real estate agent operating in the Miami-Dade county, and I know for a fact many of the residents believe the area is worse off than it should be. There are still a good amount of mob bosses on South Beach, at the nightclubs and such.

Concurrently, Lincoln is a great city - you have some of the trappings of a bigger city along with the charm of a college town. Plus, there's not a significant crime culture.

THIS!  In Spades!   I've always thought Lincoln is one of the most attractive 'College-towns' for students.

I wonder why more out-of-state parents don't seem to take this into account when counseling their kids.   (Maybe they have never visited.  If that is it, NCAA's expanding their rules, at least for football, allowing schools to pay their parents expenses for an OV may change their perceptions.)

In any case, I think the recent successes of the football program's recruiting efforts in distant states may help in other sports too.

There's a whole lot of stereotypes that people have about the "flyover states." Much of it has to do with their ignorance of never traveling to that part of the country and their over-reliance on media perceptions placed on these states. The only way to overcome that is to get them to see if for themselves. I can't tell you how many times I've met someone who was very hesitant about moving to that part of the country (for school, work, etc.), but after talking to them a year later they often mention how much they love it there.
