Opening Night with Husker Hoops Set for October 1, 2021

The men's and women's teams will scrimmage on Friday, October 1st at Pinnacle Bank Arena on what should be a big recruiting weekend ahead of the Northwestern football game on Saturday. The scrimmages will start at 7:30 pm with doors opening at 6:30 pm.

After the scrimmages, the night will be capped off with a concert by G Herbo.

I think we pretty much know who the starters are.  As far as reserves in the rotation, Wilhelm appears to be the top front court sub.  I can’t see a scenario where Tominaga doesn’t play.  Edwards and Wilcher gotta play, right?  Edwards is extremely athletic and has great skills.  Wilcher is another shooter and we are recruiting his superstar brother.  That puts us at 9, which is a large number.

That leaves Kobe, Andre and Lakes on the outside looking in.  I think any of those three have the ability to be contributors if the need arises.

Man we look stacked.  Inexperienced, but very talented roster now.  It will be interesting to see how well this post ages because rarely does the rotation I expect to see preseason end up that way in reality.

There is more music out there today than ever before.  He's not asking for Fleetwood Mac here, he's asking for someone of similar pull who would provide the relatively insignificant boost to recruiting that doesn't have a domestic violence section in his or her wikipedia page. From what I can tell, we accomplished that when we brought in Rick Ross.

Well... I do love Fleetwood Mac tho....

I will say there were plenty of people there just for G Herbo.  Alonzo Verge is at the microphone and is ready to talk and the crowd goes nuts....but it's because G Herbo waved as he walked to his courtside seat.

I was wondering (wishing) about our National Anthem Singer at the game Saturday.  Seems like every time we get a Celebrity to come in and sing the Anthem (not that it happens that often) they are a country music artist.  I'd love to see them get a rock musician to come in and do it once.  At least they had AC/DC  Thunderstruck at that awesome break before the 4th quarter.  I'm actually kind of shocked they don't bring in a rapper.

McPherson didn't have any shots dropping but he gave the appearance of a guy we can play for minutes if we get the injury bug.

Keon and Quaran both were impressive with their athleticism.

Lol...I look back and simply shake my head.

No kidding.  It seems like 20 years since that night.  NEVER did I envision this disaster.

Hey, you guys opened this portal...  I wasn't on the board last October.  Busy doing the Seth thing. BTW, he's doing good. After the season is over I'll give everyone an update.  Back to Fleetwood Mac.  IMHO, this is the most underrated, least appreciated song in their catalog.

It didn't make the cut to be included on Rumors, but Oh Daddy and Songbird did...a complete travesty.

Great to hear from you Cip. Wife and I just saw "Fleetwood Mac" at the Orpheum last weekend. It's a cover band that places with local orchestras. Was a blast.
