A chopper from Lincoln to Columbus?  Seems to me that he could pull a Howard Schnellenberger and land in ... I don't know..... Myles Turner's front yard.  Wouldn't you get more bang for the recruiting buck with a ploy like that?  Didn't Gary Pinkel use a helicopter tactic on a quarterback recruit a few years back?

    They call it the Pinkel-Copter.

He used it to visit Wide Receiver Dorial Green-Beckham.  #1 overall player in the 2012 class.

Green-Beckham got kicked off the team about 10 days ago.  Beat up a girl, it was his 3rd strike.

There was a recruiting story many years ago relating to (I believe a Texas football recruit).  Dr. Tom flew to Texas and wanted to wow a recruit so he rented a fancy car and drove a couple hundred miles to meet this top recruit.  As he was visiting with the recruit and his family, they heard a strange sound...that sound got louder and closer, and pretty soon a helicopter landed in the recruits front lawn...out jumped a smiling Barry Switzer...

Pinkel did that prior to DBG to woo away Tyler Gabbert from his NU pledge... that situation also ended poorly for Pinkel as young Gabbert left Mizzou rather unceremonially for some place warmer down south. Not sure Tyler ever did play much D-1 QB...

You know, there's other ways to "wow" a recruit. I'd like to see Miles visit a recruit this way:

Does anyone have video where Miles is saying "hello" to someone or something like that?  I could make this edit happen ;)
