High flying 6'8" Australian Forward Keanu Pinder becomes Nebrasketball's first commit of the class of 2015-16. Pinder has been playing for the Australian U19 National team and finishing up his high school career for prep national powerhouse Sunrise Academy in Bel Aire, Kansas.

Pinder is the sun of former NBA, Harlem Globetrotter, and Austrailan Pro basketball player Kendal "Tiny" Pinder.

I talked with someone close to the program who said the kid is a stud and potentially could be a top-50 guy a year from now. Academics are a concern and obviously he'll have to gain weight.

    Sounds good to me, though!

Does this mean we recruit him with the scholarship we have open now for 2014 and just use it for 2015 and keep all of our 2015 ships open??

they will still take 1 more player at the minimum in this class though it may come in the spring.  There are scholarships that open for 2015.

Biggs, Rivers, and Smith all come off the books for the class Pinder will be apart of so theres plenty of room.

We have two more scholarships for 2015 assuming we fill out our last one for 2014

Dimes the scholarship breakdown shows up as a blank page. Just a heads up.

Great commit for the Huskers. Could we go for one "best available" Player now? I know Miles talked about taking two bigs in the 2014 class, but having Hammond, Pitchford and Smith on board until at least after the 2015 season (Smith) could mean, we will go for a stud shooter as well NOW, right?

I'm not sure how much we're going to get out of Smith at this point.

He's beginning to sound like it's Neimann/Almeida all over again, unfortunately...

Are you by chance using internet explorer?  Looks like I had a rights issue.  I have updated the sheet though you might have to wait for your browser to re-cache in order for it to work.  Verified it works in Chrome and Firefox.

Is anyone using an ipad or andriod device that they can use to verify that it works there as well?  Thanks in advance.

Keanu has loads of potential....great athlete and great bloodlines.  Wish we were getting him next year but this is a very good commit.  Per Eric Bossi SunRise is notorious for their strength program.  He is in good hands and will have another year to develop his body.  Great work by the staff.  I hope Harriman plans on staying for a long long time.

Dimes, I have an Android phone and the recruiting tab doesn't show up for me.  I have messenger, notifications, members, forums, gallery, chat, new content, status updates, search, and mark as read tabs.  I do not have one for recruiting.

Thanks for the head up on that.  Does the direct link work?

I assume that you're running a Mac or you're some sort of nihilist.

Bite your tongue!  (And you neglected to include Balham in the list.)

I'm only going by the fact that he's had issues with his knee(s?) in the past, and then there's this tidbit from throwback's recap of the Husker Basketball Show this week over in the "Official Media Thread":

Smith - Started well, then got hurt, knee swells up on him at times, then injured hamstring maybe favoring knee, need him healthy, he's a critical guy for us

    That's all.

Here is a Lincoln Journal Star article on Keanu Pinder's commitment.  Lots of good stuff in the article.

But here is a bit of information that seems to be telling in some respect on recruiting for the 2014 class: "The Huskers are still in on junior-college forward Deng Deng. Nebraska isn’t expected to have any official visitors, though, until the first weekend of November."  Kind of sounds like they figure they've got the 2014 class wrapped up?  Or perhaps there are 32 other ways to construe such information?

That weekend is about 10 days prior  to signing day so they may have some last minute visitors coming in to visit.

Maybe they're going all-in with Deng Deng and if they don't get him, they hold the scholarship until the spring or if they get a good option for a December transfer, they use it there.
