    Huskers infirmary to watch

Jorge Brian Diaz might not even be in the building tonight as his foot pain from last year has come back to hobble the big man and means yet another trip to Dr Scholls in North Carolina.  Joining Andre Almeida and Rey Gallegos in the babysitters's club in the NW bleachers is Corey Hilliard.  The freshman may or may not have a sports hernia as apparently this is something that can only be discovered via surgery.  You can drop your children off up to 5 minutes before the start of the game but please remember that they can literally do anything including dribbling on the court during the game EXCEPT  for sitting on Andre's knees.  This will result in the loss of deposit.

    Husker to watch:  David Rivers

David Rivers is going to get playing time in this game....heck, you might see every eligible Husker player in this game.  However, after mostly getting minutes in less important games Rivers came in to play 13 minutes on the road at TCU.  With Diaz out and Ubel slotting over to center expect Rivers to average 20 minutes a game for the next two bunnies and perhaps parlay this into starting time for the start of the Big 10.  It's going to be rough sledding though against the physical BiG as he weighs approximately as much as Ray Gallegos or Trevor Menke...somewhere in the neighborhood of 175lbs to go with his 6'7" frame.

    Husker to watch:  Josiah Moore

Moore was the most heralded of the three freshman to start the year with the Huskers and until recently hadn't even been playing in mop-up duty.  You can attribute the lack of playing time to the fact that Moore was a late arrival to Lincoln and has been playing catch-up ever since.  However, in the last two games Moore has been averaging 10 minutes a game and we're not talking garbage time.  Supposedly one of the better shooters on the team, Moore has a real shot during the next couple of game to try and carve a role for himself on a Husker team that seems to be losing players by the day.

    Possible Lineups (Braves)

    Position Ht. Yr. PPG
    G Twann Oakley 6-5 Jr. 11.5
    G Kendrick McDonald 6-0 Sr.  7.4
    G Jarvis Moore 5-11 Jr.  3.5
    F Chris Brand 6-10 Jr.  6.9
    F Ian Francis 6-8 Jr.  6.3

    Possible Lineups (Huskers)

    Position Ht. Yr. PPG
    G Bo Spencer 6-2  Sr. 16.7
    G Brandon Richardson 6-0  Sr.  5.8
    G Caleb Walker 6-4  Sr.  7.2
    F Brandon Ubel 6-10  Jr.  6.0
    C Toney McCray 6-6  Sr.  7.9

Alcorn State is a truly awful team.  They are statistically one of the worst teams in the nation and their only two wins have come against the NAIA.  They do lead the nation in tempo which means this is what you should expect:  The Braves will quickly move down the court and take the first open shot they can find while missing more than they make.  They will then play barely any defense.  This game will be a matter of what Nebraska wants to do:  will they try to score 100 or hold the Braves to 30?  Your chance of eating a delicious free Runza (looking to sponsor a website?) will probably rely on how well Jordan Tyrance plays defense.

Prediction:  Huskers 85- Braves 48 with a 78% chance of Runzas and a 6% chance of hitting the century mark.
