2020-21 Uniforms

Herbie is on the alternate uniform 

Although I'm not a fan of the black alt's (never have been) these are all a major improvement over last years' uniforms.

Also it's worth mentioning that the shorts appear to be a bit shorter this year than last.  I am a big fan of going back to shorter shorts.  Couldn't stand the old baggy shorts that would hang down halfway between the knee and ankle.

I agree, but we haven’t been at those levels in some time. 

The new ones seem to come with extra wrinkles.

I love the black.  I am certainly a traditionalist; but there us just something about the black uniforms that fire me up.

Me too! The blacks are my favorite uniform! 

So have the NIT Champ “Chevron” Unis gone the way of the McRib? Also I liked the lower case “n” uniforms they threw out there the past couple of years. Any tip of the cap to ‘91 & that old Husker script tho is always appreciated.

Personally I hate the all blacks - and that was even before the football debacle today.    But I am old school - you have home uni's , road uni's and none of this alternate BS.

Overall just play hard - a player should not spend 1 second thinking about what their uniform looks like.

The '91 unis were made by Champion. I always liked 'em.

Looking back @ an old media guide, ‘87 had the Huskers script on the Jersey & the lower case “n” on the Court. ‘91 had the Husker script on the Court/Shorts. As far as the Football team & Black, what’s their record in Red/White...?

If it's Hoiberg, that's at least 1992.  But it could be because, IIRC, they wore those uniforms for quite a while.  Possibly for the rest of Danny's tenure at NU, or at least until we signed the all sports contract with Adidas.

Yep, pretty sure it’s Badgett’s Freshman year, & Fred ending up as our head man 30 years later is as Bob Dylan would say a “Simple Twist of Fate”

I don't recall that we have, at least I haven't seen it used like that in the 40+ years I've been following the program.

Being so simplistic feels like something design-wise that could have been rolled out before most of us were alive.  Doubtful it would be that configuration with black though.

Okay Mr. Old School, maybe we should be wearing these. 

We don't even incorporate our school colors in any of our uniforms regardless of sport, so there you go.

On a serious note, the main problem I have had with our basketball uniforms over the years is the addition of black or gray to them. It isn't as bad when this is used to frame numbers or letters, but when it is added as a major feature of the uni I typically haven't liked them. I'm in favor of just red and white being used.

As to players wanting to wear something that looks good, I don't have a problem with that. I'm guessing most aren't thinking about the uni's when they are playing in a game.
