Also, Kent Pavelka is definitely one of us:

This may not be a very popular opinion, but I'd like to see Kent be a little bit more controlled during his broadcast. It's ok to get excited, but you're on a radio call screaming like we won the national title. Just a little much for my taste

Certainly not going to be popular.  I have heard some other teams announcers and you better be damn thankful we have Kent.  Bash Benny, bash the Freshman, bash Miles, bash the team... but NEVER bash Mr. Kent P.

I'll leave it at that.

I wouldn't call it bashing. I didn't realize that only like-minded people were allowed on this board. Lots of people worried about hurt feelings around here

Over the past couple of days, you HAVE bashed the Freshman, you HAVE bashed Benny Parker, you HAVE bashed the program, and in a way... you have bashed other fans and Miles as well.  Right now stuff that you post is not ver popular.  Sorry if that hurts your feelings.

Nobody minds differing opinions.

What we do mind around here is keeping things civil.

One thing that one might try to avoid is trashing everything around the program and then calling out other long time posters that come to defend the differing position, dropping the "not hoops savvy" bomb...implying that one is more knowledgeable than anyone else here when it comes to hoops.

One must be VERY careful doing the last thing, and then turning around in the game thread and reveal one was not aware the college game moved to 4 timeouts from 5 this year.

Just sayin'

I get a little testy with Kent when he confuses the action on the court, but never for his love of the Huskers.  Many of the very best home team announcers (in almost any sport) get jiggy with it when their team is playing well.  Keep bringing it Kent!!!

I've been a little bitter about Kent being replaced as the football voice of the Huskers.  Supposedly he was too much of a homer and they wanted a guy who was more neutral in his game call.

So they brought in Warren Snore.  I mean Snooze.  No, Swain.  That's it, Snorin' Swain.

I'm sorry, but I WANT a homer broadcasting the games of the team I cheer for.  I WANT someone who's on my team's side, if you will.  I DON'T want a neutral or "objective" voice.  And I want someone to get as loud and crazy ("I LOVE YOU SHAVON") as I would if I were behind the mic.

Think of the single-most iconic broadcast of a Husker play in the history of Husker sports.  What made that call special?

Was it the "Wiley into kick" part?  Gaddammit, no!  It was the "HOLY MOLY MAN WOMAN AND CHILD DID THAT PUT 'EM IN THE AISLES!!!" part.

I don't disagree, Norm, but I'm not sure that was Bremser being a homer in that call; he was saying how the crowd was reacting.

It would have been more of a homer call if it had been along the lines of "I love you, Shavon!" if he had said "Johnny 'the Jet' Rodgers just tore me loose from my shoes!"

Nitpicking, I know.  Not a big issue.  Bremser was a homer and he was great.

I love a homer announcer, and I love Kent!

You know, there are probably few Nebraskans still today that aren't moved by that call, and those iconic words.  In fact, if you went up to a random Nebraskan and asked them to recite Bremser's call, most of them would be able to get that part.

I mean, we should probably replace "THE GREAT SEAL OF THE STATE OF NEBRASKA" in the state flag's crest with "HOLY MOLY MAN WOMAN AND CHILD DID THAT PUT 'EM IN THE AILSES"
