Defense.  That is why NU won tonight.  It also did not hurt that Bucky Badger was a little uninspired.

This is the ideal scenario. Maryland is a reeling team right now. So they are either going to wake up and play a great game or continue their funk and give us the perfect recipe for an upset. I'm really hoping for the latter.

Maryland is the best possible draw in terms of the top 4 seeds. I didn't want to make too big of a deal about it when the bracket was first released but now that we have made it this far I'm so excited!!!!

I think it helps that we match-up well with Wisconsin.  Especially, if they are missing shots from the outside.  The double team was a great game plan. 

 

Another night of balanced scoring.  4 players in double figures. 

 

We had 4 assists on 23 makes.

 

McVeigh struggled with his shot, but I thought his defense in the 1st half when White was on the bench was a huge key to this win.

We didn't settle tonight. We wanted to get to the rim and we did. We have to keep that attacking mentality up, although with tired legs this will to tougher. Tired legs cause you to settle, we cannot settle. Also, Andrew White must not allow himself to become one dimensional. He is such a dynamic player when he makes the defense respect the drive.
