How was that an offensive foul....

Because the ref was ready to call that charge before Tai made the nice sideways move. Rewatch it, he was blowing his whistle and pointing before Tai left the floor and jumped sideways to miss the defender.

We better never get these refs ever again.  This is ridiculous.  Shields gets bumped at the top of the key.  Nothing.  We lay a fingertip on Purdue, and it is a foul.
