rwmctrofholz Posted January 28, 2016 Report Posted January 28, 2016 Was hoping for a physical, quadruple OT game last night between Minnesota and Purdue to wear the Boilermakers down for Saturday. As a unrelated tangential point: While I like Colby Ridge, I miss the days when the popcorn was made on site and half a box of the buttery/salty goodness would make one's mouth numb and achy. hhcmatt, 49r and Silverbacked1 3 Quote
49r Posted January 28, 2016 Report Posted January 28, 2016 I agree, there's nothing like the old school boxes of salty fake butter popcorn they had at the Bob. To carry it a step further, I kinda miss the hot dogs in the squished up Old Home white bread buns as opposed to the artisan buns they have at PBA. Silverbacked1 1 Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted January 28, 2016 Report Posted January 28, 2016 Okay for us really old guys do any of you remember the popcorn maker in the corner down by the court at the Colosseum? It would smell like popcorn for the whole game. Also that the concession stands where under the bleachers and that the pop came with a piece of plastic wrap rubber banded on top for a lid. Also stomping on the cups after the game to make that cool loud pop sound. Always head it on the post game shows. HuskerFever and HB 2 Quote
AuroranHusker Posted January 28, 2016 Report Posted January 28, 2016 This is a great illustration for the NU O's improvement; now, need to get the Big Red D in line! Quote
hhcmatt Posted January 29, 2016 Author Report Posted January 29, 2016 No Kendall Stephens (Think 6-7 Ray Gallegos roleplayer) Possibly no Caleb Swanigan (5 star Freshman PF, started every game this year except for last game) http://www.jconline.com/story/sports/college/purdue/basketball/2016/01/29/purdues-painter-caleb-swanigan-kendall-stephens-updates/79512052/?from=global&sessionKey=&autologin= This will put them at an 8 man rotation. Also, Hammons and Haas almost never play together and I doubt they bring those guys in vs such a small team like Nebraska. Vince Edwards has sort of a bad leg but has scored in double digits the last 5 games including 24 vs Minnesota Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted January 29, 2016 Report Posted January 29, 2016 Purdue would be a hard team to be a fan of. They tend to not play as good as their talent would tell us they could. Now injuries are another thing, but Painter seems to always be about a season melt down away from getting canned. Quote
big red22 Posted January 29, 2016 Report Posted January 29, 2016 Alright guys...pretend you are Coach Miles for the upcoming game. What do we need to do to beat Purdue? Shoot 30+ 3's and make 50%. Not quite sure Shields normal style is gonna work in this game. I hope I'm wrong, but there are some Red Wood trees around their hoop Quote

Are these stats statistically significant though? Just curious. We're talking about 2/3rds of a season so in that regards I think it's significant enough. The Points per game and assists increase don't really matter by themselves. Overall it's been trending upward though. Quote

Looking solely at the effective FG% and the "points per possession," that is very significant. Quote

Blackshirt83 Posted January 29, 2016 Report Posted January 29, 2016 If you have BTN2go (don't need +), check out the Purdue vs. Butler game. That is what we will need to do gameplan and execution wise to beat Purdue's size. hhcmatt and Silverbacked1 2 Quote
