The Skinny

 

Like Incarnate Word, Abilene Christian is a small private Texas school who has recently made the jump to Division 1 and plays in the Southland Conference. Unlike Incarnate Word, the Wildcats haven't been anything close to a good team and once again are going to struggle to hit 10 wins. Abilene is dangerous because they're a good 3pt shooting team and can generate offense at the FT line, but that's about it.

 

The Huskers are going to win this game, it's simply a matter of how long it takes them to put this team away.

Prediction: Nebraska 80 - SE Louisiana 50 with a 87% chance of Runzas

 

Really like how college basketball is going with the baseball approach and playing 2-3 game series.  I think Nebraska takes game 2 and the rubber match will be to see if the Huskers get the sweep or not.  

 

Really like the Huskers speed game in this one.  You know our motto "thats what speed do."  I also feel like SE Louisiana is going to need their fair share of 3 run dingers to stay in this one.  Nebraska just has too much power at the plate and a good defensive team assembled for Skipper Tim Miles this year.  Nebraska should have this one in hand well before the fat lady sings take me out to the ball game.
