Holy "escape artist" Batman!

Our interior girls grew up big time this afternoon. Especially Jessica her demeanor from the start of the game till the end took a giant leap as the game progressed. She came up with a couple of big offensive rebounds toward the end of the game to help save the rally! I think she just got fed up with #11 draped all over her back the whole game.

Kudo's to both Rachel T and Natalie both playing the entire game and coming up big when the Huskers need a big play.

Fantastic crowd and atmosphere at PBA

We can see where our defense needs to be. We've been to loose on the perimeter defense since we started.

The experienced players took the team on their back...and pulled us out. But this has to have been another..scary... learning experience for the freshman. When Jess is surrounded by two or three....has to pitch it outside, or hit Allie or Rachel 43 more nearby....were able to do it some as the game went on.

Jess must have been blocked  6 or 7 times....maybe a hack or two by CU

This was a game where a few more turnovers would have been disastrous. The couple in the second half when we were about to catch CU .... almost gave me an ulcer.

Unreal ending !!!!!!   Way to pull it out girls !!!!!  :o :o :o :o :o

Agreed redsteve! Not sure our perimeter d will get much better as it seems they're willing give up that 3 pointer as opposed to getting beat off the dribble and hoping the help defense will be there. The Huskers started switching instead of trying to fight through screens after the first quarter and it turned into some shaky match ups where a guard would be guarding a forward and vice versa, but it seemed to slow their three pointers down.

I think Jess will learn to pump fake or pass it out as she gets more comfortable dealing with the double and triple teams. This was a good confidence builder for this team getting ready for league play.

A couple times the last few years this thing happens where a team you think is a win just goes off. Northern Arizona comes to mind. They hit everything they throw up like it's nothing. Coach Yori's program is at the point  now where you don't really lose hope. Expect the comeback.

Program to be proud of, kids to be proud of.

I was at the game and sat close to the court.  Creighton players had tremendous ball movement and certainly weren't intimidated but this type of game was good for us.  You could see the expression change on Shepard's face the fourth qtr. and really play tough.   What was really amazing was after Creighton reestablished themselves in the third qtr was how Theriot just put us her back and although her expression never changed she just got it done.  It was very obvious to me in watching her play that she is easy to take for granted because she is so smooth and efficient. What a leader.  Easy to see why we were 15-4 last year before she got hurt and 4-7 after.  Kudos to the crowd.  Biggest impact on a game that I was at since since the men beat Wisconsin last year.

Theriot, without a doubt, is what makes us go.... Absolutely invaluable.

At times she kind of becomes the personality of the team....has so many intangibles that make us successful.

She's much more than just the point guard. Rather a player that can literately win games for you.....as she did last night.

She defends, Finds open players for shots, runs the floor on fast breaks, keeps us calm in time of distress, scores almost at will, with every kind of shot imaginable., etc etc etc

We just  have a great supporting cast that completes the team in the big picture.

Enjoy her play....regrettably she wouldn't be back next year.

Does anyone know if we recruited Audrey Faber?  Coach Yori stated in the pregame interview that she has known Audrey's high school coach since she was in high school.

I don't know if we recruited her but she stated that it came down to Iowa or Creighton.  So we only have to put up with her once a year vs 2-3 times a year if she were at Iowa.

On the recruiting front Minden's Taylor Kissinger 17' and her folks were in attendance for this game.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

What an atmosphere for a recruit to see a Husker game. 6,000 plus rowdy attendance, and we pull out a miracle finish.
