I doubt he goes to St. John's, but that offer is indicative of the offers Ed will get. Chris Mullin has the No. 23 class this year and is going after big fish. His staff isn't beating around the bushes for under-the-radar type guys.

I like Ed Chang and hope we land him, so I'm not saying this to diminish Ed at all, but ...

Your premise -- the fact that the class is ranked #23 (actually #25) -- doesn't prove your conclusion.

The class is ranked so highly primarily because of one player:  Rivals #32 player Shamorie Ponds.  They also have an under-the-radar German kid who wound up as a Rivals 4-star but only had a handful of offers from American colleges/universities.  Good player but definitely one they had to beat the bushes to find and get involved with.

The other player in their class was a 3-star juco kid, so ...

FWIW they have a lot of offers out to 4-5 star kids for 2017-19

They were 27 last year with 3 4-stars, according to 247. The other small forwards they have offered for 2018 are all 4-stars and one 5 star, so ...

well, according to some dudes that live on a street about half our roster is tired of the Tim Miles show and want to leave!

Yeah, it is called the Graduation Avenue the players stroll down after they're done with Miles & Co.

Others just want to rock down to Electric Avenue...

And, then they'll have a higher star rating.

:P  ;)

I actually think we have a good chance to land him.

How are the chances compared to the chances AW III was done with Miles?
Adam Barnes thinks he is t good enough physically for the Big Ten, my source from the AW3 thinks the only in state school with a chance is Nebraska. My source is a media member.

That's weird. Does he mean that it's his opinion that Ed will never be physical enough to compete in the big ten? Because most high schoolers aren't physically ready for the big ten. I wonder what he sees that makes him think Ed will never have the physicality.

That would mean someone would actually have to care what Adam Barnes thinks. I realize at this point I'm piling on but the dude gets way more respect than he deserves. If he gets any at all, it's way more than he deserves.

I guess I have never understood the angst about Barnes.  Apparently a few of our ex-huskers don't have a problem with him either as they are staff members within his organization.  His opinions may sometimes differ from many of us, but that should not be the only measure of him or his organization.

I could care less about his opinions, he has displayed no ethics in the past. I'm sure his opinions would change over night if he felt it that would somehow benefit him. I know of instances he has lied to players and lied to high school basketball coaches. He is self-serving and has demonstrated that he does not have the best interests of the players he works with at heart. He main focus seems to be on self promotion and fooling people into thinking he is something that he is not. And let's start with basketball coach. That is something he pretends to be that he is not.

I think Chang's length makes up for any lack of physicality on the defensive side.  And it's not like he won't get stronger.

As far as his offense goes...the kid is a sniper.  Ball weighs < 1.5 lbs
